Sundsvall is a city and the seat of Sundsvall Municipality in Västernorrland County, Sweden. It has a population of 58,807 as of 2020; more than 95,000 live in the municipal area. It is Sweden's 21st largest city by population.
Gymnastik- och Idrottsföreningen Sundsvall, more commonly known as GIF Sundsvall, Giffarna or simply Sundsvall, is a Swedish professional football club based in Sundsvall. The club is affiliated with Medelpads Fotbollförbund and plays its home games at NP3 Arena with a capacity of roughly 8 000 spectators. Formed on 25 August 1903, the club has played 19 seasons in Sweden's highest football league Allsvenskan, the club's first season in the league was in 1965.
Anders Jonas Wallerstedt is a Swedish former footballer and current coach, who is the Manager of the Tipselit team of GIF Sundsvall. He is known for his aerial and goal scoring abilities. He is nicknamed "Walle" by both fans and teammates. During his career he has represented three clubs in the Swedish top flight, Allsvenskan, and was a part of the IFK Göteborg team that won 2007 Allsvenskan. He was also the first Swedish player to have played in the Russian Premier League.
Idrottsparken, currently known as NP3 Arena for sponsorship reasons, is a multi-purpose stadium in Sundsvall, Sweden. It was opened on 6th of August 1903. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of GIF Sundsvall and Sundsvalls DFF. The stadium holds 8,000 people during football matches.
Per Jörgen Nilsson is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Starting off his career with IFK Timrå in 1998, he went on to represent GIF Sundsvall, AIK, Odd Greenland, 1899 Hoffenheim, and 1. FC Nürnberg before retiring at F.C. Copenhagen in 2016. A full international between 2001 and 2016, he won 16 caps for the Sweden national team.
