Wright, an attorney from Hartsburg, Illinois.[2][3][4][5] Turner was elected to the court in 2002 and retained in 2012.[6] In January 2021, his wife Sally Turner, was appointed to the Illinois Senate.[7] Turner will retire on July 5, 2024. Raylene DeWitte Grischow, a Resident Circuit Judge in the Seventh Circuit for Sangamon County, has been appointed to succeed him in office.[8]

Rita B. Garman is a former American judge who served as a justice of the Supreme Court of Illinois. She represented the Fourth Judicial District on the Supreme Court. She was elected by her peers to serve a three-year term as chief justice from October 26, 2013, to October 25, 2016. Garman announced on May 9, 2022, that she would retire from the Supreme Court on July 7, 2022.
