The friendly match against Juventus was hosted by South Korean sports agency TheFasta on 26 July 2019. [2] The K League Federation defined that this match wasn't official All-Star Game, but they cooperated to accomplish the match. [3] It was scheduled to kick-off at 20:00, but it was delayed for 50 minutes because Juventus players and staff arrived late at the stadium. [4] This match caused controversy in South Korea due to Cristiano Ronaldo who disdained the contract by refusing the signing event and sitting on the bench throughout the game. [5] [6]

The 2002 FIFA World Cup, also branded as Korea Japan 2002, was the 17th FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial football world championship for men's national teams organized by FIFA. It was held from 31 May to 30 June 2002 at sites in South Korea and Japan, with its final match hosted by Japan at International Stadium in Yokohama. During the opening ceremony, the championship was declared opened by President of South Korea Kim Dae-jung.

The Super Match is a name for a football rivalry between two South Korean football teams from the Seoul Capital Area, FC Seoul and Suwon Samsung Bluewings. The match and the rivalry between the two teams is regarded as the biggest in South Korean K League.

The 2018 K League 1 was the 36th season of the top division of professional football in South Korea since its establishment in 1983, and the sixth season of the K League 1, former K League Classic. The K League Classic was changed its name to "K League 1" in this season. As the 2018 FIFA World Cup start on 14 June, the last round before stoppage will be held on 19–20 May. The league will resume games on 7 July.

The 2022 K League 1, also known as the Hana 1Q K League 1 for sponsorship reasons, was the 40th season of the top division of professional football in South Korea, and the tenth season of the K League 1.
The 2022 K League 2 was the tenth season of the K League 2, the second-tier South Korean professional football league. The champions and the winners of the promotion play-offs could be promoted to the K League 1.
