Kathryn Beck (born 1 March 1986) is an Australian television and theatre actress. In 2007, she played Lily Nelson in the soap opera Home and Away and the following year, she appeared in East of Everything . In 2013, Beck began appearing in Neighbours as Gemma Reeves. She joined the cast of Wentworth in 2014.

Biography

She was born in Brisbane, Queensland, and raised in Wellington Point, a suburb of Redland City. She attended Alexandra Hills State High School, and studied drama at Queensland University of Technology. She appeared in an advertising campaign for KFC's "Twister", before moving to Sydney and landing the role in Home and Away. In 2008, she played Lizzy Dellora in the ABC1 drama series East of Everything . [1] In 2010 she was cast in the lead role of the successful feature-length film The Little Things directed by Nell McGregor.

She has performed in theatre work for the Griffin Theatre Company, including King Tide by Katherine Thomson in 2007. [2] Beck joined the cast of Neighbours as Gemma Reeves in 2013. [3] She began appearing in the second season of prison drama Wentworth in 2014. [4] Beck plays a doctor in the comedy film Cooped Up. [5]

Personal life

Beck is married and has one child, a daughter. [6] In November 2018, Beck was forced to leave her house in Malibu due to the Woolsey Fire. [6]

Gemma "Gem" Reeves is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours, played by Kathryn Beck. The actress's casting was first announced in September 2013, while a promotional trailer for the character was also released. Beck commented that she loved playing Gem because she pushed boundaries. The character made her first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 7 October 2013. She departed on 10 January 2014, with series producer Jason Herbison commenting that she could return in the future.

For his performance in Silent Disco, Wyatt was named Best Newcomer at the 2011 Sydney Theatre Awards. In 2012, he played a supporting role in the musical comedy film The Sapphires and also made his debut with the Bell Shakespeare company. Georgia Flood is an Australian film, television and theatre actress. After studying at the L'École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris and the 16th Street Actors Studio in Melbourne, Flood made her stage debut in a production of Blackbird. She made a guest appearance in City Homicide in 2008, before she was cast as Charlotte Barker in Tangle. Flood went on to join the casts of House Husbands and Wentworth. Damien Richardson is an Australian film, television and theatre actor and writer. A graduate from the Victorian College of the Arts, Richardson has appeared in a variety of Australian films and television shows, including Blue Heelers, McLeod's Daughters, Redball, The Hard Word, Rogue, Conspiracy 365 and Wentworth. He and co-writer Luke Elliot won the Best New Comedy-Drama award at the Melbourne Fringe Festival for their play The Belly Of The Whale. Kate Box is an Australian stage, film and television actress. She is known for her roles as Nicole Vargas in Rake and as Lou Kelly in Wentworth.
