Ke'Shawn LaMont Vaughn (born May 4, 1997) is an American football running back who is a free agent. He played college football for the Illinois Fighting Illini and Vanderbilt Commodores.

Early years

Vaughn attended Pearl-Cohn Comprehensive High School in Nashville, Tennessee. As a senior, he rushed for 2,646 yards and 45 touchdowns and was named the Tennessee Gatorade Football Player of the Year. [1] Vaughn was also a high school track and field standout, anchoring the state champion 4 x 100m relay his senior year. [2] A 4-star running back recruit, Vaughn committed to the University of Illinois to play college football over offers from Louisville, Notre Dame, Purdue, and West Virginia, among others. [3] [4]

College career

As a true freshman at Illinois in 2015, Vaughn rushed for 723 yards on 157 carries with six touchdowns. [5] As a sophomore in 2016, he had 301 rushing yards on 60 carries and three touchdowns. After the season, Vaughn transferred to Vanderbilt University. [6] After redshirting his first year at Vanderbilt in 2017 due to transfer rules, he rushed for 1,244 yards on 157 carries and 12 touchdowns in 2018. [7] [8] Vaughn returned to Vanderbilt for his senior season in 2019 rather than declare for the 2019 NFL draft. [9]

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Vaughn was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the third round, 76th overall, of the 2020 NFL draft. [12] He was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on July 27, 2020. [13] He was activated on August 9, 2020. [14] Vaughn scored his first professional touchdown on a nine-yard reception from Tom Brady in a Week 4 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. [15] Overall, Vaughn finished his rookie season with 26 carries for 109 rushing yards in ten games. [16] Vaughn earned a Super Bowl ring when the Buccaneers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 31–9 in Super Bowl LV. [17]

On December 26, 2021, in a game against the Carolina Panthers, Vaughn scored the first rushing touchdown of his career on a 55-yard tote, the longest score of the year on the ground for the Buccaneers. [18]

Vaughn was waived by the Buccaneers on December 15, 2023. [19]

New England Patriots

On December 19, 2023, the New England Patriots signed Vaughn to their practice squad. [20] He signed a reserve/future contract on January 8, 2024. [21] On May 13, Vaughn was released by the Patriots. [22]

The 1988 Tampa Bay Buccaneers season was the franchise's 13th season in the National Football League the 13th playing their home games at Tampa Stadium and the 2nd under head coach Ray Perkins. Perkins had by now rebuilt the Buccaneers as the NFL's youngest team, having replaced so many veterans that leadership became an issue. A strong draft produced several starters, including standout offensive tackle Paul Gruber. The team was largely competitive and showed an ability to outplay opponents in the second half of games, but continued their tendency toward mental errors, and finished with a disappointing 5–11 record. Second-year quarterback Vinny Testaverde was inconsistent: an effective leader at times, as in their late-season upset of the AFC-leading Buffalo Bills, mistake-prone at others. His 35 interceptions are still a team record. His frequent costly errors caused the coaching staff to lose confidence in him, and at one point to replace him with backup Joe Ferguson. The team finished the season on a strong note with wins in two of their final three games, including respectable performances against two playoff contenders.

DuBose played college football for the University of Florida, and thereafter, he played professionally for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL.

The 2020 season was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 45th in the National Football League (NFL) and their second under head coach Bruce Arians. The club acquired long-time New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in free agency, and traded for Brady's former Patriots teammate, tight end Rob Gronkowski during the offseason. They improved on their 7–9 record from the previous season by finishing 11–5 to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2007 – though 10 of their 11 wins were against non-playoff teams. They advanced through the playoffs to reach and win Super Bowl LV. The 2021 season was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 46th season in the National Football League (NFL) and their third and final season under head coach Bruce Arians. They entered the season as defending Super Bowl champions and were attempting to become the first club to win consecutive Super Bowls since the team's quarterback Tom Brady did so with New England in XXXVIII and XXXIX. They entered the season riding a franchise record eight consecutive wins, which they extended to ten wins until they lost against the Rams. After their Week 16 win over Carolina, the Buccaneers clinched the NFC South division for the first time since 2007. Tampa Bay won a franchise record 13 games in the regular season.
