Nick Rapone is an American football coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. [1] He previously coached at the collegiate level at Temple, Pitt and Delaware.

Coaching career

Rapone began his career in coaching in 1979 as a graduate assistant at the University of Pittsburgh where he stayed for two years , before going on to East Tennessee State. Rapone began coaching under Bruce Arians at Temple University who he had previously played with and for at Virginia Tech. [2] Originally hired as a secondary coach, Rapone took on the additional responsibility of defensive coordinator for his final four years with the Owls. [3] Following his time at Temple, Rapone returned to Pitt, coaching there for four years. He then spent two seasons at New Castle (Pa.) High School serving as the head coach. [4] This led to his four year tenure at the University of Connecticut. Rapone returned to Temple for a second stint in 1999, working as the school's secondary coach until the 2006 season. [5] Rapone was at Delaware from 2006 until 2012 as the team’s defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach. In 2013 Rapone made the jump to the NFL and was named defensive backs coach for the Arizona Cardinals [6] also under Bruce Arians. [7] He stayed with Arizona until Arians retirement following the 2017 season. Rapone returned to a familiar place in Delaware in 2018 as he was named the team’s cornerbacks coach. [8] In 2019 when Arians came out of retirement to coach the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Rapone went with him and was named the team’s safeties coach. [9] He remained with the team in 2022 when Todd Bowles who he coached at Temple took over as the team’s head coach.

He previously played in the NFL for ten seasons. After twice being named the MAC Most Valuable Player at Marshall, Leftwich was selected seventh overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2003 NFL Draft. He was a member of the Jaguars for four seasons before having one season stints with the Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons. Leftwich also played four non-consecutive seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers as the backup to Ben Roethlisberger, where he was part of the Super Bowl-winning team in Super Bowl XLIII.

Kevin Lesley Ross is a former American football cornerback and safety and the current cornerbacks coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Ross was drafted in the 7th round of the 1984 NFL Draft with the 173rd overall selection by the Kansas City Chiefs, where he spent his first 10 seasons. He also played two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, one year with the San Diego Chargers, then returned to the Chiefs for one season in 1997.

Arians was previously the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals from 2013 to 2017 and the Buccaneers from 2019 to 2021. He was also the interim head coach of the Indianapolis Colts during the 2012 season. Arians is known for his slogan "No risk-it, no biscuit," which encourages aggressive playcalling.

Todd Robert Bowles is an American football coach and former player who is the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the head coach of the New York Jets. He played eight seasons in the NFL as a safety, mainly for the Washington Redskins, and started in Super Bowl XXII.

Isaiah "Mike" Caldwell, Jr. is an American football coach who is the defensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the inside linebackers coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2019 to 2021.

The 2019 season was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 44th in the National Football League (NFL), their 22nd playing their home games at Raymond James Stadium and their first under head coach Bruce Arians. Despite improving on their 5–11 record from 2018 with a Week 14 victory over the Indianapolis Colts, the Buccaneers missed the playoffs for the twelfth consecutive season, which meant the Buccaneers were one of two teams to not qualify for the postseason in the 2010s, with the other team being the Cleveland Browns.

Kevin Garver is an American football coach who is currently the wide receivers coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). He was previously the wide receivers coach for the Arizona Cardinals, and has also coached at Alabama, where he was a member of three national championship winning teams as a support staff member.
