This pageant is directed by Vanbros and Associates, headquartered in Lenexa, Kansas. In 1997, Oklahoma joined the Vanbros group of state pageants for the Miss USA and Teen USA system.
The Miss Delaware Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Delaware in the Miss Teen USA pageant. It was formerly directed by Crown Productions from 1993 to 2007, then by D&D Productions from 2007 to 2018. CW Productions became the new directors for the pageant starting in 2019. In 2020, CW Productions was terminated. The license to produce the 2021 state pageants was awarded to V&M Productions, LLC into the directorship of Vincenza Carrieri-Russo. This is only the second time that the pageant is produced by a former Miss Delaware USA.

Oklahoma is also one of three states to win back to back Miss America titles.
The Miss Wisconsin competition is the pageant, held annually in Oshkosh, that selects the representative for the U.S. state of Wisconsin in the annual Miss America pageant.

The most frequently presented Miss America awards are for preliminary talent and swimsuit. The talent award was introduced in 1936, and the swimsuit award in 1940. In the 2000s, preliminary awards for evening gown and interview were briefly introduced but were discontinued after two years as it was felt that they made the semi-finalists too predictable.

Ellen Elizabeth "Elle" Smith is an American model, journalist and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss USA 2021. As Miss USA, she represented the United States at Miss Universe 2021, where she was placed in the top 10. Smith had previously been crowned Miss Kentucky USA 2021, and is the second woman from Kentucky to win Miss USA.
