Ken Flajole (born October 4, 1954) is an American football coach who is the outside linebackers coach for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He was the defensive coordinator for the St. Louis Rams from 2009 to 2011. He won Super Bowl LII as the linebackers coach of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017.
An all-conference linebacker at Wenatchee Valley Community College and Pacific Lutheran University, Flajole earned a bachelor's degree in education from Pacific Lutheran in 1977. [1] In high school, he was an all-state linebacker at Seattle Prep.
Before entering the NFL as a defensive quality control assistant with Green Bay in 1998, Flajole spent 21 years coaching in the college ranks. He served as Nevada's co-defensive coordinator/secondary coach for two seasons from 1996 to 1997. His 1996 defense finished first in the conference in total defense, scoring defense and passing defense. Prior to his duties at Nevada, Flajole coached at seven other college programs, beginning with his alma mater, Pacific Lutheran, from 1977 to 1978, and then Washington in 1979. Other stops included Montana (1980–1985), UTEP (1986–1988), Missouri (1989–1993), Richmond (1994), and Hawaii (1995), holding defensive coordinator positions at Montana and Richmond.
Flajole replaced Sal Sunseri as linebackers coach for the Carolina Panthers in 2003, bringing with him five years of NFL coaching experience. He spent three seasons as defensive backs coach and one as linebackers coach with the Seattle Seahawks from 1999–2002 and one as a defensive assistant with the Green Bay Packers in 1998, all under head coach Mike Holmgren. As defensive backs coach for Seattle in 1999, Flajole's secondary led the NFL with 30 interceptions, including two that were returned for touchdowns. He spent the 2000 campaign as the Seahawks linebackers coach and returned to oversee the defensive backs in 2001 and 2002.
Flajole was the defensive coordinator of the St. Louis Rams from 2009 to 2011. He was hired by the New Orleans Saints in 2012, [2] but was fired (along with defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, with whom he had also coached in St. Louis) on January 24, 2013. [3] The Browns hired him as their inside linebackers coach on February 7, 2013. [4] He was a member of the Browns' coaching staff from 2013–2015, until he was hired by new Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson as linebackers coach on January 20, 2016. [5] Flajole won his first Super Bowl ring when the Eagles defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII. [6]
Flajole was hired by the Kansas City Chiefs as their outside linebackers coach on April 2, 2021. [7] [8] In 2022, Flajole won his second Super Bowl ring when the Chiefs defeated Flajole's former team Philadelphia Eagles 38–35 in Super Bowl LVII. [9] In 2023, Flajole won his third Super Bowl when the Chiefs defeated San Francisco 49ers 25–22 in Super Bowl LVIII. [10]
Michael George Holmgren is an American former football coach and executive in the National Football League (NFL). He began his NFL career as a quarterbacks' coach and later as an offensive coordinator with the San Francisco 49ers, where they won Super Bowls XXIII and XXIV. He served as the head coach of the Green Bay Packers from 1992 to 1998, where he won Super Bowl XXXI, and of the Seattle Seahawks from 1999 to 2008. His last role in the NFL was as team president of the Cleveland Browns from 2010 to 2012. Prior to his career in the NFL, Holmgren coached football at the high school and collegiate levels.
Kenneth Howard Norton Jr. is an American football coach and former player who is the linebackers coach for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the UCLA Bruins and was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 1988 NFL draft. Norton won three Super Bowls during his playing career with the Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers and became coach in 2004, later serving as a defensive coordinator with the Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks. He is the son of former world champion heavyweight boxer Ken Norton.
Joe Vitt is an American football coach who is the senior defensive assistant for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). He was previously the assistant head coach and linebackers coach of the New Orleans Saints of the NFL. He was the interim head coach for the New Orleans Saints during the 2012 season and the St. Louis Rams for their last eleven games in 2005.

He also played for the Chicago Bears and Washington Redskins.
James J. Schwartz is an American football coach who is the defensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL). He was head coach of the Detroit Lions from 2009 to 2013. He was also defensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans from 2001 to 2008, Buffalo Bills in 2014, and Philadelphia Eagles from 2016 to 2020. In addition, Schwartz was the Senior Defensive Assistant for the Titans from 2021 to 2022. He won Super Bowl LII with the Eagles in 2018.

Thompson had a 10-year playing career in the NFL as a linebacker and special teams player with the Houston Oilers from 1975 to 1984.
Phillip Bernard Daniels is the defensive line coach for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Hs is also a former American football defensive end who played for 15 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round of the 1996 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Georgia.

Stephen Christopher Spagnuolo is an American football coach who is the defensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He rejoined Andy Reid in 2019 after being a defensive assistant with him from 1999 to 2006 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He has coached four top-ten defenses as a defensive coordinator in terms of yardage. He has won four Super Bowls as defensive coordinator, one with the New York Giants and three with the Kansas City Chiefs, making him the only coordinator in NFL history to win a Super Bowl with two different franchises. Some historic defenses that Spagnuolo has coached throughout his career include the 2007 New York Giants defense and the 2023 Kansas City Chiefs defense.
Leonard Frank "Fritz" Shurmur was an American football coach. He coached at the University of Wyoming from 1962 to 1974, the last four as head coach, compiling a 15–29 record. Shurmur was subsequently an assistant coach in the National Football League (NFL) with the Detroit Lions (1975–1977), New England Patriots (1978–1981), Los Angeles Rams (1982–1990), Phoenix Cardinals (1991–1993), and Green Bay Packers (1994–1998). He was the winning defensive coordinator in Super Bowl XXXI, following the 1996 season, and was the uncle of former New York Giants (2018–2019) head coach Pat Shurmur. Coach Shurmur was also the author of several books about defense, including Coaching Team Defense (1989), Coaching the Defensive Line (1997) and The Eagle Five Linebacker Defense (1993).
Malcolm Jenkins is an American former professional football player who was a safety for 13 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes, earning consensus All-American honors, and winning the Jim Thorpe Award as a senior. He was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the first round of the 2009 NFL draft and played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2014 to 2019.

A 41-year coaching veteran with 33 seasons of NFL experience, Fangio was a defensive coordinator for 20 of the last 24 seasons at the NFL or college level before becoming the Broncos' head coach. He served as the Chicago Bears' defensive coordinator after leading the defenses for the San Francisco 49ers, Stanford University, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Panthers.
Daniel Patrick Quinn is an American football coach who is the head coach of the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). Born in New Jersey, he attended Salisbury University and competed in the hammer throw and as a defensive lineman for their football team in the early 1990s. Quinn later coached defensive lines in college prior to joining the NFL in 2001. He was the defensive coordinator of the Legion of Boom-era Seattle Seahawks that appeared in two consecutive Super Bowls, winning XLVIII.
Marvin Mychal-Christopher Kendricks is a former American football linebacker. After playing college football for the California Golden Bears, he was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Kendricks won Super Bowl LII with the Eagles. In September 2018, he pleaded guilty to insider trading and was released by the Cleveland Browns.
Robert Saleh is an American football coach who is the head coach for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He has served as an assistant coach for the Houston Texans, Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars, and San Francisco 49ers from 2005 to 2020. Saleh has appeared in two Super Bowls, one each with the Seahawks and 49ers, winning Super Bowl XLVIII with the former. He was named head coach of the Jets in 2021.
