The Kyiv Half Marathon is an annual road running event over the half marathon distance which is held in April on the streets of Kyiv, Ukraine since 2011. In 2015 Kyiv half marathon became a full member of the AIMS. It carries World Athletics Silver Label Road Race status. [1] The race is part of the Run Ukraine Running League , an annual series of races held in Ukrainian cities. [2]
In 2018, the participants were traditionally offered to choose one of the individual courses of the event: 21.0975 km, 5 km and 2 km. Besides the individual races, the 8th Kyiv Half Marathon included relay races (1х10 km + 1х11 km HeForShe Kyiv Half Marathon Relay and 3х5 km + 1х6 km Under Armour Relay) and corporate races (Chamber Cup, Diplomat Cup, Security Cup). The organizers welcomed almost 1000 children of various ages in children's races: 1000 m, 500 m, and 100 m. The number of participants reached 11000 people (3595 participated in the half marathon race) from 52 countries. [3]
Additionally, the 8th Kyiv Half Marathon became the first running event in Ukraine to receive the Bronze Label from the world organization IAAF. [4]
The 2020 in-person edition of the race was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, with all registrants given the option of transferring their entry to 2021 or 2022, or receiving credit of equivalent value for other races. [5] [lower-alpha 1]
On 3 March 2022, a week after Russia invaded Ukraine with help from Belarus, Run Ukraine banned Russian and Belarusian runners from all its events, and stated that the runners' registration fees would be used to restore Ukraine. [9] Two weeks later, on 17 March, Run Ukraine announced that the half marathon was postponed indefinitely. [10]

The route of the race runs across Kyiv city uniting two banks of the Dnipro river. Track surface: 97% – blacktop, 3% – paving. Total elevation gain – 172 meters. The start and finish lines of all courses are located in the same spot on Square of Contracts.

Road running is the sport of running on a measured course over an established road. This differs from track and field on a regular track and cross country running over natural terrain.
The Fukuoka International Marathon is an IAAF Gold Label international men's marathon race held in Fukuoka, Japan. It was previously known as the Fukuoka International Open Marathon Championship between 1947 and 2021, when it was announced the race would be discontinued on its 75th edition. The World Athletics Half Marathon Championships is a biennial international half marathon competition organised by World Athletics. The Cardiff Half Marathon is an annual half marathon race held in the Welsh capital city of Cardiff, taking place in October. The Prague Half Marathon is an annual half marathon road running event which takes place in Spring on the city streets of Prague, Czech Republic, first held in 1999. It is managed by the same organisation that holds the Prague Marathon in May. The race has a loop course, starting and ending in Jan Palach Square near the Rudolfinum, and largely follows the Vltava river. The competition has enjoyed an increasing level of participation, with around 6500 participants in 2009 and almost 8500 runners taking part in the 2010 event.

The Sydney Marathon is a marathon held annually in Sydney, Australia each September. The event was first held on the 30th of April 2000 and called The Host City Marathon as a test event for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, and has continued every year since, as a legacy of the 2000 Summer Olympics. The French Riviera Marathon is a marathon held annually along the south east coast of France, between the cities of Nice and Cannes. The event was first held in 2008, when the race achieved its full capacity of 10,000 runners, setting a new world record attendance for an event on its debut. Although the race has only been competed since 2008, it trails only the Paris Marathon in terms of participation within France. In 2013, it was listed as an IAAF Bronze Label Road Race for the first time, a status it retained in 2014.
The Valencia Marathon is an annual marathon road running event hosted by Valencia, Spain since 1981. It is categorized as a Platinum Label Road Race by World Athletics. The race is organised by the Valencian sports club SD Correcaminos, which also organises the annual Valencia Half Marathon.

The race is certified by AIMS, and is part of the Run Ukraine Running League, an annual series of races held in Ukrainian cities.
The 10-mile run is a long-distance running event over a distance of ten miles (16.1 kilometres). It can be held on a road course or on a running track. Also referred to as a 10-miler or 10 miles run, it is a relatively common distance in countries that use the mile as a unit of measure. Ten miles is roughly an intermediate distance between the 10K run and the half marathon (21.1 km). The level of endurance required to run the distance means it attracts more seasoned runners than shorter events and usually requires a period of preparation for first-time attempts.
The Tashkent Marathon is an annual road-based marathon hosted by Tashkent, Uzbekistan, since 2019. It is a World Athletics Label Road Race. During the race weekend, a half marathon, a 10K, and a marathon-length ekiden are also offered.
