The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I. Its current 11 full members are located in four Northeastern states: Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Maryland. It was announced on October 23, 2023 that Sacred Heart University and Merrimack College will join the conference beginning in the 2024-25 season.

Conte Forum is home to the Boston College Eagles men's and women's basketball and ice hockey teams as well as the Boston College Marching Band.
Memorial Coliseum is an 8,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Lexington, Kentucky. The facility, which opened in 1950, is home to four women's teams at the University of Kentucky – basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, and STUNT. Before Rupp Arena opened in 1976, it also housed the men's basketball team. Memorial Coliseum also housed the university's swimming and diving team prior to the 1989 completion of the Lancaster Aquatics Center.

WVOF is a radio station licensed to Fairfield, Connecticut, United States. The station is owned by Fairfield University. As of August 2008, the station has been a partner with Connecticut Public Radio and carries Connecticut Public Radio and NPR programming.
Alumni Hall was a 2,479-seat multi-purpose arena on the campus of Fairfield University, located in Fairfield, Connecticut. It was home to the Fairfield Stags men's and women's basketball teams from its construction in 1959 until 2002, when the teams began playing home games at the Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Sports Illustrated reported that Alumni Hall was home to the most vocal and loyal basketball fans in the Northeast.

The Stags, led by first year head coach Sydney Johnson, played their home games at Webster Bank Arena, with games during the CIT played at Alumni Hall, and are members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 22–15, 12–6 in MAAC play to finish in a tie for third place. They lost in the championship game of the MAAC Basketball tournament to Loyola (MD). They were invited to the 2012 CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they defeated Yale, Manhattan, and Robert Morris en route to the semifinals where they fell to Mercer.

The Stags, led by sixth-year head coach Sydney Johnson, played their home games at Webster Bank Arena with two games at Alumni Hall in Bridgeport, Connecticut as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 16–15, 11–9 in MAAC play to finish in fifth place. As the No. 5 seed in the MAAC tournament, they lost in the quarterfinals to Siena. They were invited to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they lost in the first round to UMBC.

The Stags, led by seventh-year head coach Sydney Johnson, played their home games at Webster Bank Arena, with three games at Alumni Hall, as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 17–16 overall, 9–9 in MAAC play to finish in a tie for fifth place. As the No. 6 seed at the MAAC tournament, they defeated No. 11 seed Marist, upset No. 3 seed Niagara and No. 7 seed Quinnipiac to advance to the championship game where they lost to Iona.

They played their home games at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut and Alumni Hall in Fairfield, Connecticut as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, and were led by eighth year head coach Sydney Johnson. They finished the 2018–19 season 9–22 overall, 6–12 in MAAC play to finish in a three-way tie for ninth place. As the 10th seed in the 2019 MAAC tournament, they were defeated by No. 7 seed Manhattan in the first round 53–57.

They finished the season 12–20, 8–12 in MAAC play to finish in a tie for eighth place. They lost in the first round of the MAAC tournament to Manhattan.
The 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 7, 2022. The regular season ended on March 12, 2023, with the 2023 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament beginning with the First Four on March 14 and ending with the championship game at NRG Stadium in Houston on April 3.
The 1985–86 Fairfield Stags men's basketball team represented Fairfield University in the 1985–86 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Stags, led by first year head coach Mitch Buonaguro, played their home games at Alumni Hall in Fairfield, Connecticut as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 24–7, 13–1 in MAAC play to win the conference regular season title. They also won the MAAC tournament to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament as No. 13 seed in the Southeast region. Making their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament, the Stags were beaten by No. 4 seed Illinois, 75–51.
