Advance Publications purchased Street & Smith Publications, Inc. in August 1959. [1] [2] The Street & Smith trademark was resurrected in 2017, by Advance Publications' subsidiary American City Business Journals, for a series of sports annuals, and transferred later to a newly formed Leaders Group subsidiary of Advance Publications, creating a standalone sports focused division within Advance.

He owns Advance Publications, founded by his father, Samuel Irving Newhouse Sr., in 1922, whose properties include Condé Nast, dozens of newspapers across the US, cable company Bright House Networks and a controlling stake in Discovery Communications. According to Forbes, he has an estimated net worth of $11 billion as of April 2024. He resides in New York City.

Condé Nast is a global mass media company founded in 1909 by Condé Montrose Nast (1873–1942) and owned by Advance Publications. Its headquarters are located at One World Trade Center in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan.

<i>The Flint Journal</i> American newspaper

The Flint Journal is a quad-weekly newspaper based in Flint, Michigan, owned by Booth Newspapers, a subsidiary of Advance Publications. Published Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, it serves Genesee, Lapeer and Shiawassee Counties. As of February 2, 2012, it is headquartered in Downtown Flint at 540 S Saginaw St, Suite 504. The paper and its sister publications The Saginaw News and The Bay City Times are printed at the Booth-owned Valley Publishing Co. printing plant in Monitor Township.

MLive Media Group, originally known as Booth Newspapers, or Booth Michigan, is a media group that produces newspapers in the state of Michigan. Founded by George Gough Booth with his two brothers, Booth Newspapers was sold to Advance Publications, a Samuel I. Newhouse property, in 1976.

Street & Smith or Street & Smith Publications, Inc., was a New York City publisher specializing in inexpensive paperbacks and magazines referred to as dime novels and pulp fiction. They also published comic books and sporting yearbooks. Among their many titles was the science fiction pulp magazine Astounding Stories, acquired from Clayton Magazines in 1933, and retained until 1961. Street & Smith was founded in 1855, and was bought out in 1959. The Street & Smith headquarters were at 79 Seventh Avenue in Manhattan; they were designed by Henry F. Kilburn.

Charlotte Newhouse is an American actress and writer known for creating, and starring in the Comedy Central series Idiotsitter, which premiered in 2014. She also appeared in Reno 911! (2006), Community (2009), The Man That I Was (2010), The Big Bang Theory (2010), Celebrity Impression (2010), Workaholics (2011), and Puss in Boots: The Three Diablos (2012).

Gina Sanders is an American media executive and venture capitalist. A member of the Newhouse family by marriage, Sanders has spent much of her career as an executive at Condé Nast.

Jonathan Newhouse is a United States-born media executive who has served since 2019 as Chairman of the Board of Conde Nast, publisher of Vogue, Vanity Fair and The New Yorker, among other notable publications.
