Pop-Rock General, in the music industry, is a record chart that ranks the best-performing songs by monitoring radio stations in Venezuela that play predominantly pop and rock music and reported by Record Report.[ citation needed ]

Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form during the mid-1950s in the United States and the United Kingdom. During the 1950s and 1960s, pop music encompassed rock and roll and the youth-oriented styles it influenced. Rock and pop music remained roughly synonymous until the late 1960s, after which pop became associated with music that was more commercial, ephemeral, and accessible.
Alternative rock is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s. Alternative rock acts achieved mainstream success in the 1990s with the likes of the grunge, shoegaze, and Britpop subgenres in the United States and United Kingdom, respectively. During this period, many record labels were looking for "alternatives", as many corporate rock, hard rock, and glam metal acts from the 1980s were beginning to grow stale throughout the music industry. The emergence of Generation X as a cultural force in the 1990s also contributed greatly to the rise of alternative rock.
Several styles of the traditional music of Venezuela, such as salsa and merengue, are common to its Caribbean neighbors. Perhaps the most typical Venezuelan music is joropo, a rural form which originated in the llanos, or plains.
María Laura Corradini Falomir popularly known as Chenoa, is an Argentine-Spanish music artist who rose to fame as a contestant on reality television singing competition Operación Triunfo. Her music style could be described as pop. Most of her music is in Spanish, although a few tracks on some albums were recorded in English. She has sold more than 1,000,000 records since 2002.
Los Amigos Invisibles is a Venezuelan band which plays a blend of disco, acid jazz and funk mixed with Latin rhythms. In addition to releasing eleven critically acclaimed albums, the band have been lauded internationally for their explosive, live shows, spanning nearly 60 countries. They are considered the Venezuelan band with the greatest international recognition.
"Nada Puede Cambiarme" is a song recorded by Mexican singer Paulina Rubio, features Slash from Velvet Revolver on the lead electric guitar. It is the second track on Rubio's eighth studio album, Ananda (2006), which was written by Fernando Montesinos, with production from Áureo Baqueiro. The song was released as second single from Ananda on January 18, 2007 by Universal Latino.
"Atrévete-te-te" is a Grammy-nominated song by Puerto Rican urban duo Calle 13 from their eponymous debut album Calle 13, released in February 2006, by White Lion Records. It is one of the duo’s best-known songs. It was a hit single in many Latin American countries. The video for this single won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video at the 2006 Latin Grammy Awards. The song is featured in the soundtrack of Grand Theft Auto IV and was later named the second-best single of the decade by Latin music website Club Fonograma.
Arde el Cielo is the third live album by the Mexican Latin Pop/Rock band Maná. The album was released on April 29, 2008. This live album was released in three formats CD, CD with DVD, and DVD.
Adult album alternative is a radio format. Its roots trace to both the "classic album stations of the ’70s as well as the alternative rock format that developed in the ’80s."
Rudy La Scala is a record producer and singer, born in Rocca di Papa, Lazio, Italy. At a young age, La Scala migrated to Venezuela, where he completed his primary and secondary studies, while learning piano and guitar. He began his career with a short lived band named Las Explosiones de Goma in the 1960s. In 1971 he was presented as a solo artist under the name Flavio, finally presenting himself as Rudy La Scala in 1974. His work as a songwriter has been very successful, including songs recorded by Karina, María Conchita Alonso, Guillermo Dávila, Kiara, Ruddy Rodríguez, Los Chamos, Proyecto M, Carlos Mata, Las Payasitas Nifu Nifa and Gerardo Mora.

Juanes: MTV Unplugged is the second live album of Colombian singer Juanes. It was recorded before a live audience at the New World Symphony Center in Miami Beach, Florida, on February 1, 2012, and was released by Universal Music Latino on May 29, 2012. The album includes featured performances by the Spanish composer Joaquín Sabina and the Brazilian singer Paula Fernandes. The album features rearranged takes on Juanes' hit songs like "Me Enamora", "La Camisa Negra" and "A Dios le Pido". The first single of the live album was released on March 5, 2012, called La Señal, which became a hit in Latin America. The second single was "Me Enamora", with new instrumental arrangements, and was released two days after of the album's release. The album featured three new songs, one of which was a collaboration with Joaquín Sabina. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard Top Latin Albums Chart and won the 2012 Latin Grammy for Album of the Year. This was the third time he won Album of the Year at the Latin Grammys.

"Como Le Gusta a Tu Cuerpo" is a Latin pop song by Colombian recording artist Carlos Vives featuring the Brazilian musician Michel Teló. It was released on January 21, 2013, as the second single of the recently released album Corazón Profundo. The song features lyrics in both Spanish and Portuguese.
"La Luz" is a song written and performed by the Colombian singer-songwriter Juanes, released as the lead single from his sixth studio album Loco de Amor (2014) on December 16, 2013. The song was produced by the American producer Steve Lillywhite. The music video for the song was directed by Jessy Terrero and filmed in Cartagena. An alternate version of the song featuring Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte was also released.
"Juntos (Together)" is a song by Colombian singer-songwriter Juanes. It was written by Fonseca, Descemer Bueno and Juanes. The song was released digitally via the iTunes Store by Walt Disney Records and Universal Music Latin on 20 January 2015, as the lead single from the soundtrack for McFarland, USA. The song is a Latin pop song with alternative rock music influences and an instrumentation consisting of an electric guitar and synthesizer.
"Vuélveme a Querer" is a song recorded by Mexican recording artist Thalía from her thirteenth studio album Latina (2016). It was written by Mauricio Rengifo and Sergio George, and produced by Rengifo, Armando Ávila and Andres Torres. The song was released as the album's second single on April 29, 2016. A Bachatón version of the song featuring Tito El Bambino was released on June 24, 2016. "Vuélveme a Querer" is a Latin rock ballad about trying to rekindle the passion with a lover.
"Sit Next to Me" is a song by American indietronica band Foster the People. The song is featured as the third track on the band's third studio album Sacred Hearts Club and was released as the record's third single by Columbia Records on July 13, 2017. "Sit Next to Me" (Versions) was recorded on October 13, 2017 and featured a radio edit, acoustic version, and a reworked version of the song. It was then released to US modern rock stations. The song was well-received by music critics, who complimented its production and catchiness.
"Me Niego" is a song by Mexican band Reik featuring Puerto Rican singers Ozuna and Wisin. It was released on February 16, 2018, as the lead single off the band's sixth studio album, Ahora. The song was written by Reik members Jesús Navarro, Julio Ramírez, Gilberto Marín Espinoza, as well as Ozuna, Wisin, and "Los Legendarios" duo Christian Linares and Víctor Torres. Topping the charts in Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Mexico, it also served as the theme song to the Mexican telenovela Tenías que ser tú, which starred Ariadne Díaz and Andrés Palacios.
