This is a list of state prisons in Washington housing adult inmates administered by the Washington State Department of Corrections (WADOC). [1] It does not include county jails, or juvenile facilities located in Washington.

Current prisons

The department currently operates 12 adult prisons (10 male institutions and 2 female institutions). [1] The department confines nearly 13,000 offenders in these facilities, with each varying in size and mission across the state. [1]

The District of Columbia Department of Corrections (DCDC) is a correctional agency responsible for the adult jails and other adult correctional institutions for the District of Columbia, in the United States. DCDC runs the D.C. Jail.

Management & Training Corporation or MTC is a contractor that manages private prisons and United States Job Corps centers, based in Centerville, Utah. MTC's core businesses are corrections, education and training, MTC medical, and economic & social development. MTC operates 21 correctional facilities in eight states. MTC also operates or partners in operating 22 of the 119 Job Corps centers across the country. They also operate in Great Britain, under the name MTCNovo.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">McNeil Island Corrections Center</span> Prison in Washington state, United States

The McNeil Island Corrections Center (MICC) was a prison in the northwest United States, operated by the Washington State Department of Corrections. It was on McNeil Island in Puget Sound in unincorporated Pierce County, near Steilacoom, Washington.
