The Popigai impact structure is the eroded remnant of an impact crater in northern Siberia, Russia. It is tied with the Manicouagan structure as the fourth largest verified impact structure on Earth. A large bolide impact created the 100-kilometre (62 mi) diameter crater approximately 35 million years ago during the late Eocene epoch. It might be linked to the Eocene–Oligocene extinction event.
Jalal-Abad Region is a region (oblast) of Kyrgyzstan. Its capital is the city of the same name, Jalal-Abad. It is surrounded by Talas Region, Chüy Region, Naryn Region, Osh Region, and Uzbekistan. Jalal-Abad Region was established on 21 November 1939. On 27 January 1959 it became a part of Osh Region, but regained its old status as a region on 14 December 1990. Its total area is 32,418 km2 (12,517 sq mi). The resident population of the region was 1,260,617 as of January 2021. The region has a sizeable Uzbek minority.
Navoiy Region is one of the regions of Uzbekistan. It is located in the central north/northwest of the country. It covers an area of 111,095 km2 (42,894 sq mi), which makes it the largest of the regions of Uzbekistan. The Navoiy region borders with Kazakhstan, Samarqand Region, Buxoro Region, Jizzakh Region, and the Karakalpakstan Republic. The population is estimated 1,033,857 (2022), with 51% living in rural areas. The capital is Navoiy. The region and its capital are named after the poet Ali-Shir Nava'i.
Novolipetsk Steel, or NLMK, is one of the four largest steel companies in Russia. NLMK's share of domestic crude steel production is about 21%. Kadamjay is a city located in Kadamjay District of Batken Region of Kyrgyzstan. Its population was 14,049 in 2021. It is the administrative seat of Kadamjay District. Kadamjay is located between the towns of Aydarken (Khaidarkan) and Kyzyl-Kyya, and north of the Uzbek exclave Shohimardon. The river Shohimardonsoy passes through Kadamjay.

The Mir mine, also called the Mirny mine, is an open pit diamond mine located in Mirny, Sakha Republic, in the Siberian region of eastern Russia. The mine is more than 525 meters deep, has a diameter of 1,200 m, and is one of the largest excavated holes in the world.
Tash-Kömür is one of the five largest towns of Jalal-Abad Region in Southern Kyrgyzstan. It is a city of regional significance, not part of a district. Its area is 47 square kilometres (18 sq mi), and its resident population was 44,065 in 2021. It is located along the West bank of the river Naryn, opposite the main Osh - Bishkek road. Located at the edge of the Tien Shan Mountains, when heading South from Bishkek, Tash-Kömür is the gateway to the Fergana valley.

The district area is 6,146 square kilometres (2,373 sq mi), and its resident population was 201,457 in 2021. The largest town of the district, Kadamjay, is located between the cities of Aydarken (Khaidarkan) and Kyzyl-Kyya.
Aksy is a district of Jalal-Abad Region in western Kyrgyzstan. The seat lies at Kerben. Its area is 4,578 km2 (1,768 sq mi), and its resident population was 137,103 in 2021.
Suzak is a district of Jalal-Abad Region in western Kyrgyzstan. The administrative seat lies at Suzak. Its area is 3,019 square kilometres (1,166 sq mi), and its resident population was 308,243 in 2021.
Toktogul is a district of Jalal-Abad Region in western Kyrgyzstan. The administrative seat lies at Toktogul. Its area is 7,815 square kilometres (3,017 sq mi), and its resident population was 103,310 in 2021.
Jumgal is a district of Naryn Region in central Kyrgyzstan. The administrative seat lies at Chaek. Its area is 4,803 square kilometres (1,854 sq mi), and its resident population was 44,866 in 2021. It is a mountainous district. Its main rivers are the Kökömeren and its tributaries Jumgal, Suusamyr and Batysh Karakol.
Alay is a district of Osh Region in south-western Kyrgyzstan. The capital lies at Gülchö. The Alay District borders with China in the east, Tajikistan in the south, Chong-Alay District in the west, Nookat District in the north-west, Kara-Suu District and Özgön District in the north, and Kara-Kulja District in the north-east. Its area is 6,821 square kilometres (2,634 sq mi), and its resident population was 87,398 in 2021.

The Karakul deposit is one of the largest cobalt deposits in Russia. The deposit is located in Altai Republic. The deposit has reserves amounting to 180 million tonnes of ore grading 0.33% cobalt, 1.5% copper, 0.11% nickel and bismuth, 0.4% tungsten, 4.6 million oz of gold and 57.6 million oz of silver.
The Kyzyl-Tash Turk mine is one of the largest lead and zinc mines in Russia. The mine is located in the Tyva Republic, and has 12.9 million metric tons of ore grading 1.55% lead and 10% zinc, or 0.2 million metric tons of pure lead and 1.29 million metric tons of pure zinc. The mine also has reserves amounting to 482,000 oz of gold and 21.7 million oz of silver.
The Central Zhdanovskoye mine is a large copper mine located in the north-west of Russia in Murmansk Oblast. Central Zhdanovskoye represents one of the largest copper reserve in Russia and in the world having estimated reserves of 4 billion tonnes of ore grading 0.24% copper.
