This is a list of places in South Africa which have standing links to local communities in other countries. In most cases, the association, especially when formalised by local government, is known as "town twinning" (usually in Europe) or "sister cities" (usually in the rest of the world).

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Hualien County</span> County in Republic of China

Hualien County is a county on the east coast of Taiwan. It is Taiwan's largest county by area, yet due to its mountainous terrain, has one of the lowest populations in the country. The county seat and largest city is Hualien City. Hualien County is located in the eastern part of Taiwan—the Pacific Ocean lies to its east and the Central Mountain Range lies to its west. Narrow and long, Hualien is the largest county in Taiwan in terms of area.

Tourism in Taiwan is one of the major industries and contributor to the economy of Taiwan. In 2022, Taiwan received under 900,000 international visitors, down from 11.8 million in 2019. Tourism affairs are managed by the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications of Taiwan.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Sigang District</span> District

Sigang District, alternatively spelled Xigang, is a rural district of about 24,611 residents in Tainan, Taiwan. It is home to two elementary schools, one junior high school, and one high school.

The Taiwan High Prosecutors Office is located in Taipei, Taiwan. The territorial jurisdiction covers the jurisdictions of Taipei, Shilin, New Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Keelung and Yilan District Prosecutors Offices. It has branch offices in Taipei, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Hualien and Taichung. It is one of the two high prosecutors offices in Taiwan.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2009 Taiwanese local elections</span>

Local elections were held in Taiwan on 5 December 2009 to elect magistrates of counties and mayors of cities, councillors in county/city councils, and mayors of townships and county-administered cities, known as the three-in-one elections. The elections were not held in the special municipalities of Kaohsiung and Taipei as well as the counties and cities that were set to be reform as special municipalities in 2010, including Taipei County, Taichung County, Taichung City, Tainan County, Tainan City, or Kaohsiung County. The new formed municipalities has their elections in 2010.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">G99 Taiwan Ring Expressway</span> Proposed road in Taiwan

The Taiwan Ring Expressway was a proposed, hypothetical expressway encircling the island of Taiwan as part of the National Trunk Highway System of the People's Republic of China. It never came into fruition, though, due to the political status of Taiwan. The People's Republic of China claims control over Taiwan, but has never administered it. Taiwan is governed by the Republic of China, which has its own highway system and does not recognize the designation by the People's Republic of China.
