Love of Diagrams are an Australian indie rock band formed in 2001. Their sound is characterised by a mix of energetic drumming, angular guitar and bass riffs, and call-and-response vocals.
Love of Diagrams were formed in Melbourne in 2001 by Monika Fikerle on drums, Luke Horton on guitar and vocals, and Antonia Sellbach on vocals and bass guitar. [1] The trio were described by Heather Phares of AllMusic, as providing "a fiery, angular sound that recalls post-punk greats like Siouxsie and the Banshees and Pylon." [1] Locally, they "made a name for themselves with their kinetic live act and consistent touring." [1]
In 2003, they released their debut instrumental album, The Target Is You, on local-based Unstable Ape Records, which received much critical acclaim. [2] They then played an extensive tour throughout Europe and Japan. [3] Whilst touring across Australia, they supported international bands including, Death Cab for Cutie, Electrelane, Les Savy Fav, Stereolab, The Rogers Sisters and Sonic Youth. [1] [2]
They released their first extended play, We Got Communication , in 2004 which is their first work to feature vocals. Its five tracks included three new songs and two remixes of other tracks. [3] Amazon.com editorial reviewer opined "the new vocal material certainly matches the high energy of their original instrumental work." [3] Two tracks from the EP were also released on a 7" vinyl single, "No Way Out", in the UK through The Passport Label, [1] and the band played a handful of London shows in November 2005. "No Way Out" was used on an episode of The O.C. in season three, "The Game Plan". [1] [4]
Their self-titled EP was released in September 2006 on Unstable Ape Records, in the United States in January 2007 via Matador Records, [5] and the United Kingdom in February. Brian Howe of Pitchfork rated it at 6.2 out of 10 and explained, "[the group] have met what seems to be their goal: to resurrect the still-awesome power of classic UK post-punk for the umpteenth time. [However, the] visceral thrills are accompanied by the nagging frustration that, out of the countless ways you can combine guitars and drums, so many bands are choosing this exact one." [5]
Whilst in the US, they recorded their second album, Mosaic, in Chicago with producer Bob Weston, [6] which was their first studio album for Matador Records. It was released in Australia in February 2007 and everywhere else in April. Pitchfork's Roque Strew rated it at 7.6 and declared, "With mad scientific precision, they clone that factory-town aura of blankness and unrest, as well as the bohemian suspicions of structure and prettiness for its own sake." [7] The band returned to the US to support tours for Ted Leo and the Pharmacists and Enon and two performances at SXSW festival in Austin, Texas which were the highlight for English disc jockey Steve Lamacq. Their third album, Nowhere Forever, was produced by Ryan Hadlock at Bear Creek Studios in Seattle and a companion 7" single, "Forever", were both released in August 2009.
Interpol is an American rock band from Manhattan, New York. Formed in 1997, their original line-up consisted of Paul Banks, Daniel Kessler, Carlos Dengler, and Greg Drudy (drums). Drudy left the band in 2000 and was replaced by Sam Fogarino. Dengler left to pursue other projects in 2010, with Banks taking on the additional role of bassist instead of hiring a new one.
Pretty Girls Make Graves was a post-punk band formed in Seattle in 2001, named after The Smiths' song of the same name. Andrea Zollo and Derek Fudesco had played together previously in The Hookers, as well as The Death Wish Kids and Area 51 along with Dann Gallucci, with whom Derek had formed Murder City Devils. Not long before the Murder City Devils disbanded, Derek and Andrea formed Pretty Girls Make Graves along with Jay, Nick and Nathan. They played the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2004. The band announced its split on January 29, 2007, with their final two shows taking place in Seattle that June.
Cameron Potts, is a musician based in Melbourne. Since 1999, he has toured regularly to the United States, Canada, Europe, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, China, Malaysia, Scandinavia and Iceland with both Ninetynine, playing drums, and Baseball, playing violin. His band Cuba Is Japan toured the Far East in 2009. and a 5 date tour of China supporting Angie Hart. He is not to be confused with Sydney musician Cameron Potts, lead singer and guitarist of Dead Letter Chorus.
Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks is an American rock band consisting of Stephen Malkmus, Mike Clark, Joanna Bolme, and Jake Morris. Malkmus was the main singer and songwriter behind the influential 1990s indie rock band Pavement.

Their influences range from Eastern European and Middle-Eastern Gypsy music and Sufi poetry to bands like The Ex, the Pixies and Led Zeppelin. They disbanded in 2010 and reformed late in 2016.
Major Leagues is the final EP by American indie rock band Pavement. It was released on October 12, 1999, on Matador Records. To date, it is their final release of original material excluding reissues.

Blonder Tongue Audio Baton is the debut studio album by Swirlies, released on CD, LP and cassette. The majority of the album was recorded in the summer of 1992 at Q Division Studios, Boston with engineer/co-producer Rich Costey. It is possibly their best-known and most critically praised work, with many critics citing it as a "lo-fi" answer to My Bloody Valentine's Loveless. AllMusic calls it "a mainstay of early-'90s indie music." In 2016, Pitchfork ranked the album at number 11 on its list of the 50 best shoegaze albums of all time.

Oh! What a Lovely Tour is a CD/DVD package by the British indie rock band Babyshambles released on 2 June 2008. It is the first live album of the band. The concert was recorded during the winter leg of the UK arena tour at the SECC Glasgow on 1 December 2007. In addition to the concert film edited and directed by Giorgio Testi, the DVD also contains the music videos for "The Blinding", "Love You But You're Green", "Delivery" and "You Talk".

Ceremony is an American punk rock band from Rohnert Park, California. The band's current line-up features Ross Farrar (vocals), Anthony Anzaldo (guitar), Jasmine Watson (bass), Andy Nelson (guitar), and Jake Casarotti (drums). Ryan Mattos (guitar) left before the group's Matador Records signing in 2011, being replaced by Nelson, while Watson joined in 2022 as a replacement for founding bassist Justin Davis. The band have released six studio albums to date, and have changed their sound considerably across their discography – ranging from elements of powerviolence, grindcore, hardcore punk, punk rock, garage rock, post-punk, indie rock and new wave. Pitchfork once wrote that "Ceremony are hell-bent on not making the same record twice", while Stereogum described the band as "a very good punk band executing old punk tricks to massive effectiveness".
Scott & Charlene's Wedding are an Australian indie rock band, formed in Melbourne in 2006. The band currently consists of vocalist and guitarist Craig Dermody, bassist Jack Farley and drummer Joe Alexander. Dermody is also the principle songwriter and founder, and by 2013, the band had undergone numerous line-up changes with "30 or 40 people in total" having joined.
