Malcolm John Stent BEM (born 14 June 1945, Saltley, Birmingham, England) [died 11 March 2024] was an English actor, musical performer and playwright, who lived in Solihull. He was in a band called the Timoneers, before he became a regular at The Boggery with Jasper Carrott. He continued to perform around the Midlands ever since. He was awarded a British Empire Medal in the 2017 New Year Honours for services to entertainment and charity in Solihull. [1]
He also presented a popular lunchtime radio show "In the Barmaids Arms" on Radio WM.

Much of the large residential population in the north of the borough centres on the communities of Castle Bromwich, Kingshurst, Marston Green and Smith's Wood as well as the towns of Chelmsley Wood and Fordbridge. In the south are the towns of Shirley and Solihull, as well as the large villages of Knowle, Dorridge, Meriden and Balsall Common.
Lorely Jane Burt, Baroness Burt of Solihull is a British politician, who was the Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for Solihull from 2005 to 2015. She received a life peerage in the 2015 Dissolution Honours. She is a patron of Humanists UK.
Meriden is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2019 by Saqib Bhatti, a Conservative. It is named after the village of Meriden, halfway between Solihull and Coventry.
Leslie LawMBE is a British eventer, who won the individual gold medal in the 2004 Summer Olympic Games. He started riding at age 10, competing with his brother, and participated in his first accredited event in 1982. He attended Lady Hawkins' School, where his passion for riding developed further. By 1989, he was a widely respected competitor, and that year placed 8th at the Badminton Horse Trials. After a period of consolidation, by the late 1990s he was counted amongst the sport's elite, placing in the top ten at Badminton, Burghley and the British Championship on a number of occasions.
