Mandy Cronin is an American ice hockey executive and former player. She was the general manager of the National Women's Hockey League's (NWHL) Buffalo Beauts and Toronto Six, as well as one of the co-founders of the Canadian Women's Hockey League. [1] [2]
Cronin played four seasons for the University of Maine Black Bears women's ice hockey program from 1998 to 2002. She would serve as team captain in her final two seasons. [3] Graduating with a program record nine shutouts, she still shared the record as of the 2020-21 season with Meghann Treacy. [4]
After graduating, she signed in the former National Women's Hockey League. After five years in that league, she was one of the seven players who founded the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL), where she would play for a further five years. [5] In 2007 and 2008, she won the Clarkson Cup with Brampton. In 2010, she left Brampton to sign with the newly formed Boston Blades, the first American CWHL team. [6]
Cronin served as a goaltending coach for the University of Toronto under Vicky Sunohara, and has served as a goaltending coach for USA Hockey. [7] In 2019, she was named the general manager of the Buffalo Beauts a team in the newer Premier Hockey Federation, and was one of three women to hold GM posts in the PHF at the time. [8] Her appointment came after most of the Beauts' roster left to join the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association and Pegula Sports and Entertainment gave up their ownership of the team. [9] In 2020, Cronin was announced as the general manager of the expansion Toronto Six, [10] but was released in February 2021. [11]
The Minnesota Whitecaps are a professional ice hockey team in the Premier Hockey Federation. They play in Richfield, Minnesota, part of the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area, at the Richfield Ice Arena. Established in 2004, the Whitecaps were part of the Western Women's Hockey League (WWHL) during 2004 to 2011.
The Canadian Women's Hockey League was a women's ice hockey league. Established in 2007 as a Canadian women's senior league in the Greater Toronto Area, Montreal, and Ottawa, the league eventually expanded into Alberta, as well as teams in China and the United States throughout its tenure. The league discontinued operations May 1, 2019, after 12 seasons of operations. For most of its existence, it was the highest level women's hockey league in North America while registered as an amateur association. The National Women's Hockey League was launched as a rival organization, while also paying its players, but with both leagues competing for the same talent. The CWHL began paying its players a stipend during its last two seasons before it folded.
Megan Bozek is an American ice hockey player and member of the United States national team. She most recently played with the KRS Vanke Rays of the Zhenskaya Hockey League (ZhHL) during the 2020–21 season.
Brittany "The Otter" Ott is an American professional ice hockey player. As of 2021, Ott plays for the New Hampshire region team in the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association. She previously played two seasons for the Boston Blades in the Canadian Women's Hockey League and four seasons with Boston Pride of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL). Ott played college hockey for the Maine Black Bears before declaring herself into the 2013 CWHL Draft. She is the first goaltender to have won the Clarkson Cup and the Isobel Cup in a career.

The league was established in 2015 with four league-owned teams and has since grown to a mixture of seven independently owned teams: the Boston Pride, Buffalo Beauts, Connecticut Whale, Metropolitan Riveters, Minnesota Whitecaps, Montreal Force and Toronto Six.

The Boston Pride are a professional women's ice hockey team based in Boston, Massachusetts. They are one of the four charter franchises of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), formerly the National Women's Hockey League. The Pride play at Warrior Ice Arena, which is also the practice facility for the Boston Bruins of the NHL. They won the inaugural Isobel Cup in 2016 and became the first professional women's ice hockey team to win three championship titles when they claimed consecutive victories in 2021 and 2022.
The Buffalo Beauts are a professional ice hockey team based in Amherst, New York, United States. The team was established in 2015 as one of the four founding franchises of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), originally named the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL). They play at Northtown Center in the Buffalo suburb of Amherst. The team played at Harborcenter in downtown Buffalo for their first four seasons. The team has advanced to the Isobel Cup Finals in the NWHL's first four seasons, winning in 2016–17.
Shiann Darkangelo is an American ice hockey player who currently plays with the Toronto Six of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). She has played at the international level with Team USA and won gold at the 2016 IIHF Women's World Championship with the team. At the NCAA Division I level, she accumulated 42 points with the Syracuse Orange women's ice hockey program during the 2011–12 and 2012–13 seasons and registered 60 points with the Quinnipiac Bobcats women's ice hockey program during the 2013–14 and 2014–15 seasons.
Hayley Marie Moore is an American ice hockey executive and former player, currently the vice president of hockey operations of the American Hockey League (AHL). She previously served as the deputy commissioner of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL) from 2017 to 2019, general manager of the Boston Pride of the NWHL from 2015 to 2017, and president of the Boston Pride from 2019 to 2021.
Anya Packer is an American retired ice hockey player and the current general manager of the Metropolitan Riveters of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). She played three PHF seasons with the Connecticut Whale before retiring from top-level play and stepping into the role as executive director of the Premier Hockey Federation Players' Association.
The 2019–20 NWHL season was the fifth season of the National Women's Hockey League. All five teams from the previous season returned: the Boston Pride, Buffalo Beauts, Connecticut Whale, Metropolitan Riveters, and the Minnesota Whitecaps.

The team was founded in 2020 with their inaugural regular season held in Lake Placid, New York, followed by the Isobel Cup playoffs in Brighton, Massachusetts.

Hayley Williams is a Hungarian-American professional ice hockey player and member of the Hungarian national team, currently playing in the Russian Zhenskaya Hockey League (ZhHL) with Dinamo-Neva St. Petersburg. She is the all-time leading scorer of the Merrimack Warriors women's ice hockey team. In 2021, she became the first black player to win the PHF's Most Valuable Player award.
The 2020–21 NWHL season was the sixth season of the National Women's Hockey League in North America. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the season was held in a bubble in Lake Placid, New York, from January to February 2021, with all five teams returning from the previous season, along with the Toronto Six expansion team as the first Canada-based team to play in the league. The season was suspended again due to positive cases of COVID-19 within the bubble. On March 8, 2021, the league announced that the Isobel Cup playoffs would re-commence on March 26 and 27 at Warrior Ice Arena in Brighton, Massachusetts.

Bray Ketchum is an American former ice hockey player and executive. She played for the Metropolitan Riveters of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) and the Boston Blades of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL), winning the Isobel Cup and the Clarkson Cup respectively, before ending her playing career and serving as general manager of the Connecticut Whale during the 2019–20 NWHL season.
Nathaniel "Nate" Oliver is an American ice hockey executive, currently serving as General Manager of the Buffalo Beauts in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). Prior to his role as General Manager, Oliver served as the Beauts’ Community Relations Manager for one season. Oliver is also an associate director with Campus Living at the University at Buffalo. Before joining the Buffalo Beauts in 2019, Oliver was a sports journalist, having covered the game for the The Hockey Writers.
