Marion Township was named for Francis Marion, an army officer during the American Revolutionary War, known as the Swamp Fox. [5]

Geography

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 24.95 square miles (64.6 km2), of which 24.82 square miles (64.3 km2) (or 99.48%) is land and 0.12 square miles (0.31 km2) (or 0.48%) is water. [4]
