Mason Novick (born December 20, 1974) is an American film producer and talent manager based in Los Angeles. [1] [2]

His credits include Red Eye (2005), Juno (2007), (500) Days of Summer (2009) and Jennifer's Body (2009). [3] He has also acted in small roles in his films, including parts in Red Eye and The Hollow.
He most recently was a producer on the Focus Features film Lisa Frankenstein . [4]
Novick has taken part in several projects with screenwriter Diablo Cody, including Jennifer's Body , and Juno , [5] for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2008, and won a Christopher Award and an Independent Spirit Award. [6]
Novick claims to have found Diablo Cody by reading Cody's blog while she was a blogger living in Minneapolis. He found "her voice [to be] so interesting and so fresh". Inspired by her writing, he rang Cody and asked her whether she had ever considered writing a book or a screenplay. As a result of Novick's encouragement, Cody wrote the script which would become Juno. [7]
Novick has worked with Cody on Young Adult (2011), [8] Paradise (2013), [9] and Tully .
He was a producer in all films unless otherwise noted.

In 2008, Novick won both a Christopher Award and an Independent Spirit Award for Best Film for Juno . He was nominated for the Producers Guild of America and Academy Award for Best Picture also for Juno.
The Academy Award for Best Picture is one of the Academy Awards presented annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) since the awards debuted in 1929. Gods and Monsters is a 1998 period drama film written and directed by Bill Condon, based on Christopher Bram's 1995 novel Father of Frankenstein. Brook Maurio, known professionally as Diablo Cody, is an American writer and producer. She gained recognition for her candid blog and subsequent memoir, Candy Girl: A Year in the Life of an Unlikely Stripper (2005). Cody received critical acclaim for her screenwriting debut film, Juno (2007), winning both the Academy Award and the BAFTA Award for Best Original Screenplay.
Juno is a 2007 American coming-of-age comedy-drama film directed by Jason Reitman and written by Diablo Cody. Elliot Page stars as the title character, an independent-minded teenager confronting her unplanned pregnancy and the subsequent events that put pressures of adult life onto her. Michael Cera, Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman, Allison Janney and J. K. Simmons also star. Filming spanned from early February to March 2007 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Simmons, Amy Sedaris, and Adam Brody in supporting roles, the film follows a high school student, demonically possessed following a sacrifice, who kills her male classmates and devours their flesh in order to survive, with her childhood friend striving to end her killing spree.

It is given in honor of an actress who has delivered an absolutely outstanding performance in a supporting role while working in an independent film. Breathers: A Zombie's Lament is a romantic zombie comedy novel by first-time author S. G. Browne, published in 2009. The plot follows a misunderstood teenage goth girl who meets and develops a relationship with a reanimated Victorian-era corpse. Cody stated that Lisa Frankenstein is set in the same fictional universe as Jennifer's Body.
