Metal Swim is a heavy metal compilation album released by Adult Swim. The album was released as a free download on their website. [2] It consisted of rare and unreleased material from various metal bands. [3]

Mercyful Fate Danish heavy metal band

Mercyful Fate is a Danish heavy metal band from Copenhagen, formed in 1981 by vocalist King Diamond and guitarist Hank Shermann. Influenced by progressive rock and hard rock, and with lyrics dealing with Satan and the occult, Mercyful Fate were part of the first wave of black metal in the early to mid-1980s, along with Venom and Bathory. Many of the bands from this movement went on to influence later black metal musicians in the 1990s, particularly in Norway. Cradle of Filth are an English extreme metal band, formed in Suffolk, England in 1991. Brendon Small is an American stand-up comedian, animator, actor, voice actor, writer, director, producer, singer, and musician known for co-creating the animated series Home Movies and Metalocalypse. He is also known for creating, performing and writing the music for the virtual melodic death metal band Dethklok.

William Geoffrey Steer is a British guitar player, and co-founder of the extreme metal band Carcass. Dethklok is a fictional melodic death metal band featured in the Adult Swim animated television series Metalocalypse.

Metalocalypse is an American adult animated television series, created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha, which premiered on August 6, 2006, followed by a musical one-hour special, Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem, on October 27, 2013 on Adult Swim. The television program centers on the larger-than-life melodic death metal band Dethklok, and often portrays dark and macabre content, including such subjects as violence, death, and the drawbacks of fame, with hyperbolic black comedy. The show was widely heralded as both a parody and a pastiche of heavy metal culture.

Whitechapel is an American deathcore band from Knoxville, Tennessee. The band is named after the Whitechapel district in East London, England, where Jack the Ripper committed a series of murders. The group comprises vocalist Phil Bozeman, guitarists Ben Savage, Alex Wade, and Zach Householder, drummer Alex Rüdinger and bassist Gabe Crisp. Founded in 2006 by Bozeman and Savage, the band has released seven studio albums and fourteen music videos, and are currently signed to Metal Blade Records. Skeletonwitch is an American metal band from Athens, Ohio, formed in 2003. The band currently consists of lead guitarist Nate Garnette, rhythm guitarist Scott Hedrick, bassist Evan Linger, and vocalist Adam Clemans. Original vocalist Chance Garnette was fired from the band sometime in late 2014, or early 2015. In early 2018, drummer Dustin Boltjes left the band as well after a 7-year tenure. Jon Rice, formerly of Job for a Cowboy, is currently substituting on drums for live performances.

Acid Witch is an American heavy metal band formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 2007. They released their first album, Witchtanic Hellucinations, in 2008 on Razorback Records. The band then released two EPs, Witch House in 2009 and Midnight Mass in 2010. The band released their second album, Stoned, in 2010, on Hells Headbangers. In 2012, Witchtanic Hellucinations was re-released on Hells Headbangers.

<i>Metalocalypse</i> (season 4) Season of television series

The fourth season of the animated show Metalocalypse originally aired on Adult Swim from April 29, 2012 to July 15, 2012 with 12 episodes. The show follows virtual death metal band Dethklok. This season returned to the original 11-minute-long episode format. Several songs from this season were included in the album Dethalbum III, which was also released in 2012. The season four DVD/Blu-ray was released on October 30, 2012 through Adult Swim/Warner Home Video.

Run the Jewels Hip-hop duo

Run the Jewels, also known by the initialism RTJ, is an American hip hop super-duo composed of Brooklyn-based rapper and producer El-P, and Atlanta-based rapper Killer Mike. They released their critically acclaimed self-titled debut studio album as a free download in 2013 and have since released the follow-up albums Run the Jewels 2 (2014), Run the Jewels 3 (2016), and RTJ4 (2020), all of which have been released for free and received similar acclaim.
