Michael R. Cannon

Michael R. Cannon (born 1953) is the former CEO of Solectron.

Prior to joining Solectron, Cannon was president, CEO and director of Maxtor Corporation. [1] Previously, Cannon was with IBM's Storage Systems Division, where he held several senior leadership positions, including vice president of the Personal Storage Systems Division, vice president of product design and vice president of worldwide operations. [2] Prior to IBM, Cannon worked at several companies in the disk drive industry, including Control Data Corporation's Imprimis Technology spin-off. [2] Cannon began his career at The Boeing Company, where he held engineering and management positions in the Manufacturing Research and Development Group. [2] Cannon studied mechanical engineering at Michigan State University and attended the six-week Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. [1]

Solectron Electronics manufacturing company

Solectron Corporation was an electronics manufacturing company for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). It was the first electronics manufacturing services (EMS) industry in 1977. Solectron's first customer designed and distributed an electronic controller for solar energy equipment. The name "Solectron" was a portmanteau of the words "solar" and "electronics". Solectron had sales of around $12 billion a year, and employed 70,000 people in 23 countries. The company was acquired by Flex on October 15, 2007.

Edwin Van Wyck Zschau represented California's 12th District in the United States House of Representatives from 1983 to 1987. In 1986 he ran as the Republican candidate for a seat in the United States Senate. He prevailed in a crowded Republican primary that included, among others, conservative commentator Bruce Herschensohn, Los Angeles County supervisor Michael D. Antonovich and Congresswoman Bobbi Fiedler, but then lost to incumbent Democrat Alan Cranston by a narrow margin.

Ginni Rometty American business executive

Virginia Marie "Ginni" Rometty is an American business executive who served as executive chairman of IBM after stepping down as CEO on April 1, 2020. She previously served as chairman, president and CEO of IBM, becoming the first woman to head the company. She retired from IBM on December 31, 2020 after a near-40 year career at IBM. Prior to becoming president and CEO in January 2012, she first joined IBM as a systems engineer in 1981 and subsequently headed global sales, marketing, and strategy. While general manager of IBM's global services division, in 2002 she helped negotiate IBM's purchase of PricewaterhouseCoopers' IT consulting business, becoming known for her work integrating the two companies. As CEO, she focused IBM on analytics, cloud computing, and cognitive computing systems.
