As with nearly all North American professional team sports, there are limits to the roster sizes of minor-league teams, which vary by classification level. Major League Baseball-affiliated teams are limited in how many players they may place on their active rosters, except for some "rookie" leagues. At lower classification levels, there are restrictions on how much prior professional experience players on the roster may have.

While a team's active roster consists of players eligible to compete for the team in games, a team's reserve roster consists of players on the injured list, those who are restricted or suspended, or who are otherwise temporarily inactive. [1] Major league players on rehabilitation assignments do not count against active roster limits. [2]

The Arizona Complex League (ACL) is a rookie-level Minor League Baseball league that operates in and around Phoenix, Arizona, since 1988. Prior to 2021, it was known as the Arizona League (AZL). Along with the Florida Complex League (FCL), it forms the lowest rung on the North American minor-league ladder.

Triple-A teams are located in smaller cities as well as larger metropolitan areas without MLB teams, such as Austin, Jacksonville, Columbus, and Charlotte.

Minor League Baseball (MiLB) is a hierarchy of professional baseball minor leagues in the Americas that compete at skill levels below Major League Baseball (MLB) and help prepare players to join major league teams. Those teams which are affiliated with MLB teams operate under the Commissioner of Baseball within the scope of organized baseball. Several leagues, known as independent baseball leagues, consist of teams with no affiliation to MLB teams.

Heliot Lemuel Ramos Lebrón is a Puerto Rican professional baseball outfielder in the San Francisco Giants organization. The Giants selected Ramos in the first round, with the 19th overall selection, of the 2017 MLB draft.
