Mister Maker is a British children's television series produced by RDF Media (Series 1)/The Foundation (Series 2-3) for CBeebies. [1] The series aired from 17 September 2007 until 25 December 2009.
The series was presented by Phil Gallagher in the title role. The series was followed by four spin-offs: Mister Maker Comes to Town , Mister Maker Around the World , Mister Maker's Arty Party (also on BBC iPlayer for over a year) and Mister Maker at Home, which began airing in 2010, 2013, 2015 and 2020, respectively.
Mister Maker, created and portrayed by Phil Gallagher, presents the show (he also created the series). Each episode features seven different sequences:
At the end of each episode, Tocky pops out and reminds Mister Maker that it's time to go. Mister Maker says "My making time's over, but yours is just beginning!", and after that, he says "It's time to put all this stuff back in it's box!", and the set quickly changes back into small objects in the progress.
Mister Maker was commissioned by Michael Carrington at the BBC for CBeebies. [2] The series launched in 2007 [3] and also aired on BBC One and BBC Two, It still currently airs on CBeebies, usually during weekdays. In Latin America the series was broadcast on the Discovery Kids and Discovery Familia networks, dubbed in Spanish and in Portuguese in Brazil. [4] In Canada, the series aired on Treehouse TV from 2008 to 2012 and TVOKids from 2013 to 2021. The Foundation (part of RDF Media) commissioned the series for three seasons. [3] [5] It also airs in Australia on ABC2. The series comprises a mixture of animation, CGI and live-action.

Several spin-offs of the series have been created. They all follow the same format.
A YouTube spin-off titled Mister Maker's Mumfie Makes premiered on the show's official YouTube channel in April 2023. This spin-off was created as a tie-in with Zodiak Kids' reboot of Mumfie . [7]
Teletubbies is a British children's television series created by Anne Wood and Andrew Davenport for the BBC. The programme focuses on four differently coloured characters known as the Teletubbies, named after the television screens on their bellies. Recognised throughout popular culture for the uniquely shaped antenna protruding from the head of each character, the Teletubbies communicate through gibberish and were designed to bear resemblance to toddlers.
Bob the Builder is a British animated children's television series created by Keith Chapman for HIT Entertainment and Hot Animation. The series follows the adventures of Bob, a general contractor, specialising in masonry, along with his colleague Wendy, various neighbours, and friends, and equipment, and their gang of anthropomorphised work-vehicles, Scoop, Muck, Dizzy, Roley, Lofty and many others. The series ran from 12 April 1999 to 31 December 2011 in the United Kingdom through the CBBC strand and later CBeebies. The series originally used stop-motion from 1999 to 2009, but later used CGI animation starting with the spin-off series Ready, Steady, Build! (2010-2011). The British proprietors of Bob the Builder and Thomas & Friends sold the enterprise in 2011 to US toy-maker Mattel for $680 million.
HIT Entertainment Limited was a British-American entertainment company founded in 1982 as Henson International Television, the international distribution arm of The Jim Henson Company, by Jim Henson, Peter Orton, and Sophie Turner Laing. Orton alone took over the company in 1989 after learning Henson intended to sell the company to The Walt Disney Company. HIT owned and distributed children's television series such as Thomas & Friends, Fireman Sam, Bob the Builder, Pingu, Barney & Friends, and Angelina Ballerina.
CBeebies is a British free-to-air public broadcast children's television channel owned and operated by the BBC. It is also the brand used for all BBC content for children aged 6 years and under. Its sister channel, CBBC, is intended for older children aged 6 to 12. It broadcasts every day from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm, timesharing with BBC Four.
Magic Adventures of Mumfie is a British animated children's television series and movie, inspired by the Mumfie books written and illustrated by Katharine Tozer (1907-1943). The initial 1994 season of the series, spanning one continuous storyline, has a music score containing more than 20 songs. The series was created by Britt Allcroft, produced by The Britt Allcroft Company and Quality Family Entertainment, narrated by American actor Patrick Breen and directed by John Laurence Collins. Mumfie was first seen in the United States on the Fox Kids Network from 1995 to 1996, as part of The Fox Cubhouse. The second and third seasons debuted on the Fox Family Channel. 79 episodes were produced. The worldwide rights have reverted back to Britt Allcroft.
SMart was a British CBBC television programme based on art, which began in 1994 and ended in 2009. The programme was recorded at BBC Television Centre in London. Previously it had been recorded in Studio A at Pebble Mill Studios in Birmingham. The format is similar to the Tony Hart programmes Take Hart and Hartbeat. The show was revamped into an hour-long show in 2007; from 1994 to 2006 it was previously a 25-minute show. From 1994 to 2005, the show also featured Morph, originally from Take Hart. The series run featured 199 episodes, last airing on 11 August 2011.
SMarteenies is a children's art programme produced by BBC's in-house children's division aimed at pre-school audiences. It is a spin-off of the CBBC programme SMart, and aired on CBeebies.
Nigel Pickard is a British television executive who oversaw the creation and launch of, amongst others, the BBC's children's channels, CBBC and CBeebies and as director of programmes at ITV, was responsible for commissioning some of the UK's most popular shows. In the Night Garden... is a popular British preschool children's television series created, written and composed by Teletubbies co-creator Andrew Davenport for CBeebies and BBC Two and produced by Ragdoll Worldwide, a joint venture of Ragdoll Productions and BBC Worldwide. The show was aimed at children aged from one to six years old. The programme is narrated by Derek Jacobi. It is filmed in live action and features a mix of actors in costume, stop motion, puppetry and CGI animation. The characters include Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka, the Tombliboos, the Pontipines, the Wottingers, the HaaHoos, the Ninky Nonk, the Pinky Ponk, the Ball and the Tittifers.
Timmy Time is a British stop-motion animated television programme for preschoolers created and produced by Bob the Builder producer Jackie Cockle for the BBC's CBeebies and produced by Aardman Animations. It started broadcasting in the United Kingdom on 6 April 2009. It is a spin-off of Shaun the Sheep, itself a spin-off of the Wallace and Gromit film A Close Shave (1995).
Waybuloo is a live-action/animated children's television series created by Dan Good and Absolutely Cuckoo. Set in the fictional land of Nara, it features four CGI creatures with large heads and eyes called Piplings who practise a form of Yoga which they call "Yogo". They are visited in each episode by live action children who are referred to as "Cheebies". It was broadcast on CBeebies in the UK between 2009 and 2012.
Charlie and Lola is a British Flash-animated children's television series based on the popular children's picture book series of the same name by Lauren Child, produced by Tiger Aspect Productions for CBeebies. It ran for 3 series from 7 November 2005 to 24 April 2008, winning multiple BAFTA Children's Awards throughout its run. The animation uses a collage style that emulates the style of the original books.

Octonauts: Above & Beyond is an animated children's television series that is the successor and spin-off of Octonauts. Produced by Mainframe Studios and Sony Pictures Television Kids for Netflix, the spin-off series premiered on 7 September 2021. The series follows a similar structure to the original Octonauts series, but is primarily focused on terrestrial creatures and habitats. In addition, to cover this global range of missions, more characters join the crew as main characters in the series.
