Gino John Marchetti was an American professional football player who was a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL). He played in 1952 for the Dallas Texans and from 1953 to 1966 for the Baltimore Colts. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1972. In 1969, Marchetti was named to the National Football League 50th Anniversary All-Time Team. In 1994, Marchetti was named to the National Football League 75th Anniversary All-Time Team. In 2019, he was unanimously named to the NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team.

Marcus Crandell is a former professional Canadian football quarterback who is currently the offensive coordinator of the Saskatchewan Huskies of the University of Saskatchewan. He played 11 seasons for the Edmonton Eskimos, Calgary Stampeders and Saskatchewan Roughriders from 1997 to 2008 while also spending time in NFL Europe and the XFL. Crandell was named the Grey Cup Most Valuable Player after the Stampeders won the 89th Grey Cup in 2001. He also won a Grey Cup championship with the Roughriders in 2007 as the team's backup quarterback.
Modesto Junior College (MJC) is a public community college in Modesto, California. It is part of Yosemite Community College District along with Columbia College. MJC, and Columbia College, belong to the California Community College system along with 112 other public community colleges. The college has two campuses in Modesto. The East Campus is the original campus while the West Campus is the larger of the two. Courses are provided in general education, lower-division transfer programs, occupational and developmental education.

The Modesto Bee is a California newspaper, founded in 1884 as the Daily Evening News and published continuously as a daily under a variety of names. Prior to its purchase by Charles K. McClatchy and McClatchy Newspapers in 1924, it merged in the same year with the Modesto News-Herald, adopting that name as part of a consolidation. In 1933 it changed its name to the Modesto Bee and News-Herald, and in 1975 abbreviated the name on its masthead to The Modesto Bee. Daryl Hobbs is a former professional American football player who played wide receiver for five seasons for the Los Angeles/Oakland Raiders, New Orleans Saints, and Seattle Seahawks. He played in the Canadian Football League from 1999 to 2000 with the Montreal Alouettes and Saskatchewan Roughriders. Hobbs also played in the XFL for the Memphis Maniax. He was also a member of the Kansas City Chiefs.

He played college football for Florida State University, and earned All-American honors. He played professionally for the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Jets of the NFL, the Memphis Maniax of the XFL, and the Tampa Bay Storm and Chicago Rush of the Arena Football League (AFL).
The Modesto Relays, now known as the California Invitational Relays is an annual elite track and field meet. It is held about the second weekend in May. For 67 years, the meet was held at Modesto Junior College in Modesto, California, a track notable for tight turns and long straightaways, ending in 2008. During its run in Modesto, it was the site of over 30 world records. After taking the 2009 season off, the meet moved to Hughes Stadium at Sacramento City College in Sacramento, California.
Modesto Christian School is a private Christian school in Salida, California, on the outskirts of Modesto. It was formerly affiliated with the Assemblies of God; it was founded in 1962 by Pastor Roy Blakeley, who had previously founded Neighborhood Church. It was a charter member of the Association of Christian Schools International. The school educates children from preschool through 12th grade and is divided into an elementary, a middle, and a high school, which are housed on the same campus. It is a small school; combined enrollment was 285 in 2009 and 343 in 2013–14. The first graduating class, in 1976, consisted of 8 students; in 2007 there were 86.

He played college football at the University of Memphis and attended Dyer County High School in Newbern, Tennessee. He was also a member of the Seattle Seahawks, Berlin Thunder and Memphis Maniax. He is now a PE teacher at Truman Middle School in Tacoma Washington.
Leonta Rheams is an American former football defensive tackle. He played professionally with the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL) and the Memphis Maniax of the XFL. Rheams played college football for the University of Houston Cougars. In the NFL, he appeared in six games during his only season in the league and made two tackles, one unassisted. In the XFL, he finished sixth on the Maniax with 21 tackles with one sack.
