Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women a women's prison in the town of Bedford, New York, is the largest women's prison in New York state. The prison previously opened under the name Westfield State Farm in 1901. It lies just outside the hamlet and census-designated place Bedford Hills.

All of Marcy is on one level; there are no stairs, making it especially suitable for disabled prisoners. It also has a higher-than-average number of vocational programs. One building was built with "classrooms" for lessons in how to clean an office and a toilet, lay bricks, repair electrical devices, and the like. It has a full-sized football field surrounded by a track. The biggest room at the prison is the basketball court, also used, with portable chairs and tables, for presentations. The gym has a large waiting area, benches in a room.

With an operating capacity of 740, it is the largest women's prison in the state and is surrounded by Washington State Route 16, and McCormick forest park. It opened 52 years ago in 1971, 82 years after statehood.
Janet S. York Correctional Institution is Connecticut's only state prison for women, located in Niantic. The facility opened in its current form in October, 1994, and houses a maximum of 1500 at a range of security levels from minimum to super maximum.
