The Music Victoria Awards of 2014 are the ninth Annual Music Victoria Awards and consist of a series of awards, presented in October and November 2014.

The Genre awards were awarded on 16 October 2014 in The Age building, [1] while the public voted, general awards were awarded in November on 170 Russell Street, Melbourne. [2]

The American Music Awards (AMAs) is an annual American music awards show, generally held in the fall, created by Dick Clark in 1973 for ABC when the network's contract to air the Grammy Awards expired, and currently produced by MRC Live & Alternative, which Dick Clark Productions was folded into in the fall of 2021. Emma Donovan Musical artist

Emma Donovan is an Aboriginal Australian singer and songwriter. She is a member of the renowned musical Donovan family. She started her singing career at age seven with her uncle's band, The Donovans. In 2000, she became a founding member of Stiff Gins, leaving the band three years later to release the solo album Changes in 2004. She performs with The Black Arm Band and released a solo EP, Ngaaraanga, in 2009.

Tinpan Orange Musical artist

Tinpan Orange are an Indie folk band from Melbourne, Australia. They formed in 2005 after they were discovered busking on the streets of Darwin, Australia. The band is a trio of musicians, made up of Emily Lubitz as the lead singer and guitarist, with her brother Jesse Lubitz as guitarist and Alex Burkoy as a violinist. The band's style is heavily stylised folk music, combined with romanticism.

Dan Sultan Indigenous Australian singer

Daniel Leo Sultan is an Australian alternative rock singer-songwriter and guitarist, actor and author. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2010 he won Best Male Artist and Best Blues & Roots Album for his second album, Get Out While You Can. At the 2014 ceremony he won Best Rock Album for Blackbird, which had reached number four on the ARIA Albums Chart. In 2017, Sultan's record Killer was nominated for three ARIA awards: Best Male Artist, Best Rock Album, and Best Independent Release. Sultan's debut children's music album Nali & Friends was named Best Children's Album at the ARIA Music Awards of 2019.

Zulya Nazipovna Kamalova is an Australian singer. She currently resides in Australia though tours both countries frequently.

Dick Diver is an Australian four-piece indie pop band from Melbourne, Victoria (Australia). The band consists of Rupert Edwards (guitar) and Alistair McKay (guitar), Steph Hughes (drums) and Al Montfort (bass). It took its name from the character Dick Diver in the novel Tender Is The Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Allan Vincent Browne was an Australian jazz drummer and composer first known for his work in The Red Onion Jazz Band in the 1960s.

Black Jesus Experience are a nine piece Ethio-jazz band based in Melbourne, Australia. Since 2009 they have been best known for collaborations with Mulatu Astatke as well as a growing discography of independent work. Black Jesus Experience blend traditional Ethiopian music with hip-hop and funk.

Hiatus Kaiyote is an Australian jazz/funk band formed in Melbourne in 2011, made up of singer/guitarist Nai Palm, bassist Paul Bender, keyboardist Simon Mavin, and drummer Perrin Moss.

MoJu Australian musician

Mojo Ruiz de Luzuriaga, known professionally as Mo'Ju and previously as Mojo Juju, is an ARIA Award-nominated Australian musician, best known for their 2018 album Native Tongue and the lead single of the same title. The single won the Best Independent Single category in the 2019 AIR Awards. They play guitar and piano, write songs and sing, and have created music in a number of genres.

#1 Dads are an Australian alternative rock band devised by Tom Iansek, who is also lead vocalist-guitarist of Big Scary. He formed the group, initially named Dads in late 2010, as a side project during down time and plays music which is "more acoustic than electronic in construction" compared with the parent band. According to Sputnikmusic's reviewer Iansek "began a particularly fertile period of writing and recording. Holed up in his house, the prolific Melbourne songwriter laid down a full album."

A.B. Original is an Australian hip hop duo made up of Indigenous Australian rappers Briggs and record producer Trials. A.B. Original stands for Always Black, Original. Both members are Indigenous Australians; Briggs is a Yorta Yorta man and Trials is Ngarrindjeri. Their music is overtly political and has been described as "angry, polemical, brutally frank and meant to inspire a response, good or bad".

The Public Opinion Afro Orchestra is a Melbourne-based band which performs Nigerian funk in the vein of Fela Kuti. The band was founded by DJ Manchild, Zvi Belling and Tristan Ludowyk. The band has varying membership that can be up to 19 members. Their album Do Anything Go Anywhere was nominated for 2010 ARIA Award for Best World Music Album.

Andrea Keller is an Australian musician and composer. She won three ARIA Award for Best Jazz Album with Thirteen Sketches, Mikrokosmos and Footprints and was nominated in 2013 for the album Family Portraits.

G Flip Australian musician (born 1994)

Georgia Claire Flipo, known professionally as G Flip, is an Australian singer, songwriter, producer, drummer, and musician from Melbourne, Victoria. They released their debut studio album, About Us, on 30 August 2019.

The Music Victoria Awards are an annual awards night celebrating music from the Australian state of Victoria. They commenced in 2006 and are awarded in Melbourne Music Week between October and December. The awards were initially an exclusively online public voted awards, changing in 2013.

Mildlife are a Melbourne based, Australian psychedelic jazz fusion group formed in 2013. The group have released two albums. Their second peaked at number 8 on the ARIA Charts in October 2020.
