National Institute of Cryptology Research and Development (NICRD) is a national-level research center for cryptologic education and research.

History

The institute was established in 2007 in Hyderabad. [1] It is one of the institutes which comes under the purview of the National Technical Research Organisation. [2] The other one is the National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre.

It was envisioned to house simulation laboratories, and digital fortress laboratories for financial security and design. And, to develop encryption products for national security-related critical applications. [1]

Hyderabad has various research institutes such as the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology. It is also the home of Maulana Azad National Urdu University as well as Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University.

Pushpa Mittra Bhargava was an Indian scientist, writer, and administrator. He founded the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, a federally funded research institute, in Hyderabad. He was outspoken and highly influential in the development of scientific temper in India, and argued that scientific rationalism needed to be cultivated as a civic duty.

Telangana has multiple institutes of higher education universities along with numerous primary and secondary schools.

Mariappan Periasamy is an Indian organometallic chemist and a professor at the School of Chemistry of the University of Hyderabad. He is known for his experiments using carbon metal bonds for constructing diverse types of molecular structures, and is an elected fellow of the Indian National Science Academy and the Indian Academy of Sciences The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the apex agency of the Government of India for scientific research, awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, one of the highest Indian science awards, in 1996, for his contributions to chemical sciences.
