New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance

The New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) was an NCAA Division III women's lacrosse-only conference that disbanded in 2012. NEWLA had nine member schools representing three states: (Maine, Massachusetts, and Vermont). The schools joined their primary sports conference, seven schools joined the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference and two the New England Collegiate Conference. [1]

History

The NEWLA was founded in 1998. The original members consisted of two playing divisions: a North division consisting of Castleton State College, Colby-Sawyer College, Keene State College, New England College, University of New England, and Plymouth State College, and a South division consisting of Bridgewater State, Elms College, Endicott College, Eastern Connecticut State University, and UMass Dartmouth. Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference

The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) is an intercollegiate athletic conference affiliated with the NCAA's Division III. Full member institutions are all located in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with some affiliate members also located in Connecticut and New Hampshire. All full members are a part of the Massachusetts State Universities system and associate members are part of the University of Massachusetts System, the University System of New Hampshire, and the Connecticut State University System respectively.

Cape Cod Community College Community college in West Barnstable, Massachusetts, U.S.

Cape Cod Community College, known locally as "Four Cs", is a two-year community college located in West Barnstable, Massachusetts. Cape Cod Community College was established in 1961, the second institution to open as part of what is now a 15 community college system in Massachusetts. Cape Cod Community College is the only community college and one of two colleges on Cape Cod. It awards Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees and various academic certificates in a wide variety of programs. Golden Bear Stadium

Golden Bear Stadium is a multipurpose outdoor sports facility on the campus of Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts. It features a synthetic turf field. The 1,500-seat stadium serves as the home field for Western New England University's football, field hockey, and men’s and women’s lacrosse teams.

The Pilgrim Lacrosse League was an NCAA Division III men's college lacrosse conference that had member schools in Massachusetts. League operations were absorbed by the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference for the 2014 season and the league is now officially known as the NEWMAC Lacrosse League.

UMass Minutemen and Minutewomen

The UMass Minutemen are the athletic teams that represent the University of Massachusetts Amherst; strictly speaking, the Minutemen nickname applies to men's teams and athletes only — women's teams and athletes are known as Minutewomen. The Minutemen and Minutewomen compete in NCAA Division I sports competition primarily as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. UMass is one of only 16 universities in the nation that plays Division I FBS football and Division I men's ice hockey. The nickname is also applied to club teams that do not participate within the NCAA structure.

Don Brown is an American college football coach and former player. He is currently the defensive coordinator at the University of Arizona. Previously, he served as defensive coordinator Boston College and at the University of Connecticut and as the head football coach at Plymouth State University (1993–1995), Northeastern University (2000–2003), and the University of Massachusetts Amherst (2004–2008), compiling a career college football head coaching record of 95–45. Brown was also the interim head baseball coach at Yale University in 1992, tallying a mark of 26–10.

The 2009 NERFU College Men's Division III Rugby Tournament featured 8 teams from four conferences. The top 2 teams in each conference were seeded according to the success of their conference in the previous year.

Westfield State Owls football is an NCAA Division III college football program that represents Westfield State University in Westfield, Massachusetts.

NCAA Division III women's ice hockey is a college ice hockey competition governed by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as part of the NCAA Division III. Sixty-seven teams competed in NCAA Division III women’s hockey across eight conferences in the 2019–20 season.

North East College Lacrosse League

The North East Collegiate Lacrosse League (NECLL) was a regional organization of non-varsity men's club field lacrosse programs in the Northeastern United States. The league was founded in 2006 by club teams from Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Connecticut. Like the Great Lakes Lacrosse League (GLLL) and the National College Lacrosse League (NCLL), schools that have a varsity lacrosse program may join the league. The league ceased operations prior to the 2014 season.

The Colonial Coast Rugby Conference is a New England-based college rugby conference founded in 2012. The conference provides a pathway to a USA Rugby National Championship for Division II college rugby programs.
