Northeast Neighborhood Library

The Northeast Neighborhood Library is a branch of the District of Columbia Public Library in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, D.C. It is located at 330 7th Street NE. [1] The Georgian Revival-style brick building first opened in 1932 [2] and it reopened in 2014 following a $10 million renovation [3] that preserved its historic interior. [4]

Historically centered along 12th Street NE, Brookland is bounded by either Taylor Street or Michigan Avenue NE to the north, Rhode Island AvenueNE to the south, South Dakota Avenue NE to the east, and the Washington Metro's Red Line to the west. The western boundary originates with the completion of the former Metropolitan Branch of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad in 1873, which now incorporates the Washington Metro's Red Line and creates the physical barrier which continues to separate Brookland from Edgewood to the west today.

Its central commercial strips are Rhode Island Avenue NE and Bladensburg Road N.E. A new library opened in 2017 as part of a mixed-use development project designed by architect Enrique Norton.
