Paramount Networks UK & Australia, formerly ViacomCBS Networks UK & Australia, is a division of Paramount Global launched on 14 January 2020. It is based in London, England, with a local office in Sydney, Australia. [1]

NXT UK was a professional wrestling streaming television programme that was produced exclusively in the United Kingdom by the American promotion WWE. It aired on BT Sport and 5Action. In the United States, the show was available to stream on Peacock, while in other countries, it aired on the WWE Network. The show featured competitors from WWE's NXT UK brand. It was officially announced during the 2018 United Kingdom Championship Tournament. The final episode of the programme aired on 1 September 2022, following the announcement that the NXT UK brand would be replaced by a planned NXT Europe.

5Action is a British free-to-air television channel owned by Channel 5 Broadcasting Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Paramount Global, which is grouped under Paramount Networks UK & Australia division. 5Action features a range of programming from the Channel 5 stable as well as other content from the UK and US, focusing on action, crime and wrestling, aiming towards a Male audience.

The company was formed on December 4, 2019, as ViacomCBS Inc. through the merger of the second incarnations of CBS Corporation and Viacom. The company took its current name on February 16, 2022, the day after its Q4 earnings presentation.

2019 merger of CBS and Viacom 2019 merger transaction

The 2019 merger of CBS Corporation and Viacom was announced on August 13, 2019, and was completed on December 4, 2019. The merger of equals reunited CBS Corporation and Viacom into a single company known as ViacomCBS after their separation from the first incarnation of Viacom on December 31, 2005. Both companies were owned by the theater company National Amusements, which remains the owner of the merged entity.
