Pavel Bucha (born 11 March 1998) is a Czech professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for FC Cincinnati in Major League Soccer.

Club career

He made his league debut in Slavia's Fortuna Liga 0–1 loss at Jihlava on 17 February 2018. [3] In June 2018, he was sent back to the Slavia junior squad following his refusal to extend his contract. [4] In July, Bucha terminated his contract with Slavia Prague on the grounds that removing him from the first team had constituted a breach of contract by the club. Immediately after, he signed a four-year deal with rivals Viktoria Plzeň. [5]

On 7 February 2024, Bucha signed a contract with Major League Soccer club FC Cincinnati until 2026, with a club option for 2027. [6]

International career

In October 2021 he was called up to the senior Czech Republic squad and was on the bench against Belarus. [7]

The 2018–19 Czech First League, known as the Fortuna liga for sponsorship reasons, was the 26th season of the Czech Republic's top-tier football league. The defending champions were Viktoria Plzeň, who won their fifth Czech title the previous season. The season was the first with a new league structure in which 16 clubs play each other home and away, until the league is split up into championship, Europa League and relegation groups. Dukla Prague lost seven consecutive games at the start of the season, becoming the first team in the Czech First League to do so.

The 2018–19 season was SK Slavia Prague's 26th season in the Czech First League. The team competed in Czech First League, the Czech Cup, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.

The 2018–19 season was Dukla Prague's eighth consecutive season in the Czech First League and culminated in their relegation. The club made the worst start ever by any club in the first league, losing seven consecutive matches at the beginning of the season under Pavel Drsek, who was replaced in September 2018 by Roman Skuhravý.

The 2021–22 Czech First League, known as the FORTUNA:LIGA is the 29th season of the Czech Republic's top-tier football for professional clubs since its establishment, in 1993. SK Slavia Prague were the reigning champions. The season started on 24 July 2021. The first half of the season will had 19 rounds, finishing on 19 December 2021, and the other half commenced on 5 February 2022. The season ended on 14 May 2022 with two extra play-out fixtures on 19 and 22 May 2022.
