The Preston Raiders were a Canadian Junior "B" ice hockey team from the town of Preston, Ontario which later became Cambridge, Ontario. [1]

History

The team started out as the Preston Pals of the Central Junior C Hockey League. They changed their name to the Raiders in 1965.

In 1969, the Preston Raiders joined the Central Junior 'B' Hockey League. In 1974, the team left the Central league and joined the Waterloo-Wellington Junior 'B' Hockey League, which was a predecessor league to the current Midwestern Junior B Hockey League. In 1976, the team became the Cambridge Raiders for one season, before folding.

The Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) is a Canadian Junior "A" ice hockey league operating in eastern Ontario, Canada. The league is sanctioned by Hockey Eastern Ontario and Hockey Canada and is a member of the Canadian Junior Hockey League. The winner of the CCHL playoffs competes for the Fred Page Cup — the Eastern Region championship of the Canadian Junior Hockey League — with the winners of the Quebec Junior AAA Hockey League and the Maritime Junior A Hockey League. The 1992–93 CJAHL season was the 1st and only season of the OHA's Central Junior A Hockey League (CJAHL), a pilot project that would become the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League in 1993. The nine teams of the East Division competed in a 48-game schedule, while the eight teams of the West Division played a 49-game schedule. The top 7 teams of each division make the playoffs.
