Real Talk is the debut studio album by American rock band Man Overboard.
Man Overboard was founded by vocalist/bassist Nik Bruzzese and lead guitarist Wayne Wildrick in 2008. [5] The pair brought in vocalist/guitarist Zac Eisenstein, and the group went to work on what would be their first release, Hung Up on Nothing. [5] The band soon toured across the U.S. [5] On November 5, 2009, it was announced they signed to Run for Cover. [6] Following the release of a few more EPs, [5] the band went to work on their debut album.
In February 2010, Man Overboard went on a US tour with Therefore I Am and the Wonder Years. [7] The Noise from Upstairs acoustic EP was released in April 2010; alongside this, the band's debut album was announced for release in a few months time. [8] Real Talk was released on July 19, 2010, through Run for Cover. Shortly afterwards, the band performed at Sound and Fury Festival, and then supported Tigers Jaw on their headlining US tour. [9] [10] On August 10, Real Talk was made available for streaming via Alternative Press . [11] From mid August to early October, the band supported the Swellers on their tour of the US. [12] On September 3, it was announced that guitarist Wayne Wildrick had left the band. The band explained that Wildrick had "some personal things to take care of". [13] As a result of this, drummer Justin Collier switched to guitar, and Mike Hrycenko was brought in to fill in on drums. [13] In March 2011, the band went on tour with The Wonder Years, [14] followed by a March–April tour with Senses Fail. [15] On April 28, it was announced that Wildrick had re-joined the band. [16] A music video was released for "Montrose" on August 9. [17]
The album was critically acclaimed upon release. [5] The album was included at number 48 on Rock Sound's "The 51 Most Essential Pop Punk Albums of All Time" list. [18]
AJJ is an American folk punk band from Phoenix, Arizona, originally formed in 2004 as Andrew Jackson Jihad. Their lyrics handle themes of shyness, poverty, humanity, religion, addiction, existentialism, and politics. Singer/guitarist Sean Bonnette and bassist Ben Gallaty co-founded the band, and have remained its only constant members throughout. The band has released eight studio albums to date, with their most recent, Disposable Everything, having been released on 26 May 2023.

Since then, they had released two EPs, an acoustic EP, a split with Boston pop punk band Transit, a compilation and four full-length albums. Taking influence from such pop punk acts as Blink-182, Saves the Day, and Taking Back Sunday, Man Overboard played a brand of upbeat and poppy pop punk with the emotion of 90s emo acts such as The Promise Ring. The band was signed to Rise Records. They are well known for their motto within the pop punk scene to "Defend Pop Punk". On January 28, 2016, they announced a hiatus on their official website; the hiatus ended on August 2, 2018, when the band announced a 10-year anniversary tour.
This Is Only a Test is the sixth studio album by the Chicago-based pop punk band the Smoking Popes, released March 15, 2011 through Asian Man Records. It was produced by Matt Allison and is their first album with drummer Neil Hennessy, who joined the band in 2008. It is a concept album, with all of the songs written from the perspective of a single teenage boy dealing with the growing pains of adolescence. Singer, guitarist, and songwriter Josh Caterer described it as "kind of a concept album about a teenage life. All of the songs are written from the point of view of a high school student, and they explore aspects of teenage life. This would be [about] a contemporary teenager. It's not specifically autobiographical of my high school experience. Obviously, those things are incorporated into what I write, but I tried to create a character who is the protagonist in these songs."

Transit was an American rock band from Stoneham, Massachusetts. From their formation in 2006 to their 2016 split, they released five albums, four EPs, and a split EP with Man Overboard. Although they largely took influence from emo acts such as Saves the Day, Death Cab for Cutie, American Football, Fairweather, Lifetime, and Hot Water Music their sound transformed from a fusion of pop punk and contemporary emo from their early releases into an indie rock sound by their final release, Joyride.

Man Overboard is the second studio album by the American rock band Man Overboard. After the release of their debut album Real Talk (2010), guitarist Wayne Wildrick left the group, resulting in several line-up changes. In December 2010, the group had signed to independent label Rise Records, and aimed to release another album by fall of next year. Following Wildrick's return to the band in April 2011, the group began demoing songs for their next album the following month. With New Found Glory guitarist Steve Klein standing in as producer, the group recorded their second album at Cannon Found Soundation Studios in New Jersey in June. Following this, the band went on a European tour with Polar Bear Club. After the album was announced in August 2011, "Dead End Dreams" was made available for streaming later that month, followed by "Spunn" in mid-September.
