Reece Whitley (born January 3, 2000) is an American competitive swimmer specializing in the breaststroke. In 2019, he was named 2019 Pac-12 Men's Swimming Freshman of the Year. [6] At age 15, he won the silver medal in the 100 meter breaststroke at the 2015 FINA World Junior Swimming Championships in Singapore, [7] where he also finished 4th in the 200 meter breaststroke. [1]

Whitley was named Sports Illustrated Kids' SportsKid of the Year for 2015. [8] [9] [10]

Personal life

Whitley swam for 5 season as an undergraduate at UC Berkeley. He graduated from William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia in 2018. [3] He started taking swimming lessons at age 7 after failing a deep-water safety test. [11] He also started playing basketball and baseball at age 7, [10] [12] but he stopped playing baseball after he broke his first swimming national age group record in 2012. [3]

Andrew Hammond Seliskar is a retired American competitive swimmer. He won the gold medal in the 200 meter butterfly at the 2013 FINA World Junior Swimming Championships in Dubai, breaking the Championships record.

Lillia Camille King is an American swimmer who specializes in breaststroke. She currently represents the Cali Condors, a team that is part of the International Swimming League. Ryan Hoffer is an American competitive swimmer who specializes in freestyle and butterfly events. He competes as part of the International Swimming League for the team DC Trident. Hoffer is currently the national age group record holder in the 100 yard freestyle for the boys 17-18 year old age group. He won two silver medals at the 2015 FINA World Junior Swimming Championships in relay events.

Lydia Alice Jacoby is an American professional swimmer. She was the first Alaskan to qualify for an Olympic Games in swimming, competing at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo in 2021, where she won the gold medal in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:04.95, which was the fastest time ever achieved by a female American swimmer in the event in the 17–18 age group. Later in the year, she was the overall highest scoring female American competitor at the 2021 FINA Swimming World Cup. In 2022, she became the fastest female American swimmer in history in the 100-yard breaststroke for the 17–18 age group with a national age group record time of 57.54 seconds. In 2023, she further lowered the record to a time of 57.45 seconds, then 57.29 seconds, and set a national age group record of 2:04.32 for the girls 17–18 age group in the 200-yard breaststroke. She is the 2023 NCAA Division I champion in the women's 100-yard breaststroke.

Katherine Cadwallader Douglass is an American swimmer. A versatile swimmer who competes in many events, Douglass won her first major international medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics with a bronze in the 200 m individual medley. She won three medals at the 2022 World Championships. She then won six medals, including two golds, at the 2023 World Championships.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Léon Marchand</span> French swimmer

Léon Marchand is a French swimmer and a member of the Arizona State Sun Devils swim team. He is the World record holder in the long course 400 metre individual medley and the French record holder in the long course 200 metre individual medley, 200 metre butterfly and 200 metre breaststroke. He competed in the 400 metre individual medley at the 2020 Summer Olympics, placing sixth in the final. At the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, he won NCAA titles in the 200 yard breaststroke and 200 yard individual medley. He won the gold medal in the 400 metre individual medley and the 200 metre individual medley and the silver medal in the 200 metre butterfly at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships. At the 2023 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, he won NCAA titles in the 200 yard breaststroke, 200 yard individual medley, and 400 yard individual medley.

Josh Matheny is an American competitive swimmer specializing in breaststroke events. He is a world junior record holder in the 4×100 meter mixed medley relay. He won the gold medal and the national title in the 100 meter breaststroke at the 2022 US National Championships. At the 2019 World Junior Championships, he won gold medals in the 200 meter breaststroke and 4×100 meter mixed medley relay as well as silver medals in the 100 meter breaststroke and 4×100 meter medley relay. He competes collegiately for Indiana University.

Kaitlyn Dobler is an American competitive swimmer. She is the 2022 NCAA Division I champion in the 100-yard breaststroke. She won the national title in the 100-meter breaststroke at the 2022 US National Championships. At the 2019 World Junior Championships, she won the silver medal in the 100-meter breaststroke and the bronze medal in the 50-meter breaststroke, in addition to winning a gold medal in the 4×100-meter medley relay, swimming the breaststroke leg of the relay in the final.

Emma Reaney is a former competition breaststroke and individual medley swimmer and current swim coach. She is an 8-time All-American and 5-time All-American honorable mention. She medaled for Team USA at the 2014 FINA World Swimming Championships and the 2015 Summer Universiade. She has set American records in both the 200-yard breaststroke and the 4x50 meter medley relay. As of 2021, Reaney still held 4 Notre Dame swimming event records.
