A geyser is a spring characterized by an intermittent discharge of water ejected turbulently and accompanied by steam. As a fairly rare phenomenon, the formation of geysers is due to particular hydrogeological conditions that exist only in a few places on Earth. Generally all geyser field sites are located near active volcanic areas, and the geyser effect is due to the proximity of magma. Generally, surface water works its way down to an average depth of around 2,000 metres (6,600 ft) where it contacts hot rocks. The resultant boiling of the pressurized water results in the geyser effect of hot water and steam spraying out of the geyser's surface vent.
Brian Ernest Orser, is a Canadian former competitive and professional figure skater and coach to Olympic champions. He is the 1984 and 1988 Olympic silver medallist, 1987 World champion and eight-time (1981–88) Canadian national champion. At the 1988 Winter Olympics, the rivalry between Orser and American figure skater Brian Boitano, who were the two favorites to win the gold medal, captured media attention and was described as the "Battle of the Brians".
The Olympisch Stadion or Kielstadion[ˈkilstaːdijɔn]) was built as the main stadium for the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp. For those games, it hosted the athletics, equestrian, field hockey, football, gymnastics, modern pentathlon, rugby union, tug of war, weightlifting and korfball (demonstration) events. Following the Olympics it was converted to a football stadium. Its current tenant is K Beerschot VA, a Belgian football club. There are no remnants of the Olympic athletics track.

The women's field hockey tournament at the 2008 Summer Olympics was the 8th edition of the field hockey event for women at the Summer Olympic Games. It was held over a thirteen-day period beginning on 10 August, and culminating with the medal finals on 22 August. All games were played at the hockey field constructed on the Olympic Green in Beijing, China.
Tennis has been a part of the Summer Universiade program since the games' first edition in 1959, with the exception of the 1975 Summer Universiade and again in 1989. The first change at the program was at the 1987 edition, when FISU decided awards two bronze medals for the losers of the semifinals, extinguishing the fourth place. The second change was in 2009, when the team competitions were included. Currently, seven events are played at Universiade. Individual, double and team contests for men and women, as well as mixed doubles.

Rika Saito is a Japanese weightlifter. Saito represented Japan at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where she competed for the women's light heavyweight category (69 kg). Saito placed eighth in this event, as she successfully lifted 87 kg in the single-motion snatch, and hoisted 122 kg in the two-part, shoulder-to-overhead clean and jerk, for a total of 209 kg.
Henderika "Rika" Bruins is a retired Dutch swimmer. She competed at the 1952 Summer Olympics in the 200 m breaststroke but failed to reach the final. She was part of Dutch teams that set world records in the 4 × 100 m medley relay in 1954 and 1955.
Jaroslav Cihlář was a Czech cyclist. He competed in three events at the 1956 Summer Olympics.
Rika Kihira is a Japanese figure skater. She is a two-time Four Continents champion, the 2018 Grand Prix Final champion, a four-time Grand Prix series medalist, a two-time International Challenge Cup champion, and a two-time Japanese national champion. As of 25 March 2022, Kihira is the twelfth highest ranked women's singles skater in the world by the International Skating Union.
Olga Oldřichová, née Šicnerová is a Czech former sprinter. She competed in the women's 100 metres at the 1948 Summer Olympics. Oldřichová also had five national titles and set national records in sprinting.
Hermina Geyser is a South African athlete. She competed in the women's high jump at the 1956 Summer Olympics.
Abdollah Fatemi Rika is an Iranian former weightlifter. He competed in the men's heavyweight I event at the 1992 Summer Olympics.
