Robbie S. Nichols (born August 4, 1964) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played in the American Hockey League (AHL) and International Hockey League (IHL). [1]

Career

Nichols was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the ninth round of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. [1] He played nine seasons in the AHL and IHL, winning a Calder Cup with the Adirondack Red Wings in 1989. [2]

Nichols later became a head coach following his playing career, serving seven seasons as the head coach of the Flint Generals. [1] Nichols also worked as the general manager of the ECHL's Elmira Jackals from 2007 to 2013. [2] He is the owner of the Elmira Enforcers Federal Hockey League team and a co-owner of the Elmira Pioneers and Batavia Muckdogs, collegiate summer league baseball teams in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League. [3] In 2019, at the age of 55, Nichols was an emergency player for his Enforcers' team during a game. [4]

Eugene Stephen Ubriaco is a Canadian professional ice hockey executive and former player. He is currently the Director of Hockey Operations for the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL). As a player, Ubriaco played three seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Oakland Seals, and Chicago Black Hawks in the National Hockey League. In 1970, he returned to school to become a coach, which led to his returning to the NHL as the coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1988. He later moved to the Chicago Wolves as coach in 1994 and has remained with the organization ever since.

Michael Fountain is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Vancouver Canucks, Carolina Hurricanes, and Ottawa Senators. He also played several seasons in the American Hockey League (AHL), as well as in the Russian Superleague. He played 131 games in the National Hockey League with the Philadelphia Flyers and Toronto Maple Leafs between 1978 and 1985. After his playing career he worked as an assistant coach for the Maple Leafs. He also served as a goaltending coach for the Dallas Stars, and an assistant coach and goaltending coach for the Manitoba Moose and St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League. He was selected in the fourth round of the 1975 NHL Amateur Draft by the Flyers, and his two sons would also be drafted, though neither played in the NHL.

Jeff Staples is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played in the American Hockey League (AHL) and International Hockey League (IHL). He was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the tenth round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. After completing his junior hockey career with the Brandon Wheat Kings, Staples played three seasons with the Flyers' top minor league affiliate, the first season with the Hershey Bears and two seasons with the Philadelphia Phantoms. After winning the Calder Cup with the Phantoms in 1998, Staples was traded to the expansion Nashville Predators along with Dominic Roussel for a 7th-round pick in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. After one season playing in the IHL for the Milwaukee Admirals, Staples played one more AHL season with the Saint John Flames before retiring.

The Elmira Enforcers were a minor professional ice hockey team located in Elmira, New York, and a member of the Federal Prospects Hockey League. Their home games were played at First Arena. The team folded in 2021 after an arena contract dispute after three seasons. The team never had missed the playoffs in their 3 seasons.
