The South Africa national rugby union team, commonly known as the Springboks, is the country's national team governed by the South African Rugby Union. The Springboks play in green and gold jerseys with white shorts, and their emblem is the native antelope springbok. The team has been representing South Africa in international rugby union since 30 July 1891, when they played their first test match against a British Isles touring team. They are currently ranked the number one mens team by World Rugby and are the only team besides the All Blacks to have won the Rugby World Cup on three occasions.
Percival Colin Montgomery OIS is a South African former professional rugby union player. When he ended his international career in August 2008, he held the all-time records for both caps and points for South Africa's national team, known as the Springboks. He is currently the highest scoring full-back in the history of international rugby.
Gary Hamilton Teichmann is a retired South African professional rugby union player. He played number eight and captained the South African national team, the Springboks, between 1995 and 1999.
Edwin Peter Andrews is a South African politician serving as the Deputy Mayor of Cape Town since November 2021. A former rugby union footballer, his usual position was prop, and he played for the Springboks. He played for the Stormers in the Super 14 between 2003 and 2007.

Jacobus Cornelius 'Japie' Mulder, is a former South African rugby union player who played for South Africa between 1994 and 2001.
Marius Hofmeyr Hurter, is a former South African rugby union player who played for South Africa between 1995 and 1997. He was a member of the Springbok Squad that won the 1995 Rugby World Cup.

Johannes Jacobus 'Hannes' Strydom in Welkom, is a former South African rugby union player who played for the South Africa national rugby union team between 1993 and 1997. He went to school at Pearson High School in Port Elizabeth and the A rugby field is named after him. He is now a pharmacist in Pretoria.
Gavin Keith Johnson is a former South African rugby union player who played for South Africa between 1993 and 1995. He played as a wing or a fullback and was a member of the squad that won the 1995 Rugby World Cup.
