Saulat Nagi

Saulat Nagi is an Australian-Pakistani writer. He has authored several books on socialism (Gramscian and Frankfurt schools) and history. He is a regular columnist [1] in one of Pakistan's leading English language dailies, the Daily Times. He has written for other Pakistani dailies too, including The Nation, The Asian Mirror and The Frontier Post, as well as for local and international web-based news portals. [2] [3] [4] [5] He is a medical doctor by training. He received his bachelor's degree in Medicine from King Edward Medical University, Lahore, followed by postgraduate training in Vienna. [6] [7]

He has authored six books in Urdu language, which were reviewed by leading dailies in Pakistan (e.g. Dawn). Among them are two biographies, one about Che Guevara, [8] and the other about Fidel Castro. [9] Other published works include: “Socialism or Barbarism”; “The Origin of Monotheistic Religions”; “Capitalism: A Civilizational Clash or Civilization of Clash?”; and a book on poetry “The Promise of Love”. [10] [11] [12] He also translated Lenin’s work “Materialism and Empirio-criticism” in Urdu. [13] His first novel in English, titled "And When She Smiled" was published in 2017. [14] [15]

In a whirlwind of intolerance, [16] his home in Pakistan was attacked in 2014 but he escaped unhurt. [17] He is based in Sydney, and spends his time between Australia and Pakistan. [18] [19]

Faisal Qureshi is a Pakistani television personality, actor, director, writer, drama producer and humorist. He is known for directing or writing comedy dramas, sitcoms, commercials and music videos.

Jodia Bazaar is a bazaar located in Karachi, Pakistan. The bazaar comprises a wholesale market for commodities including flour, wheat, rice, sugar, and legumes.

Ek Mamnua Muhabbat ki Kahani is the second novel by Rahman Abbas. It was first published in 2009 and was awarded Best Novel of The Year in 2011 by the Universal Society for Peace and Research (Aurangabad). The book was an immediate success in the Urdu speaking world.

<i>Zameen</i> (novel) Urdu novel by Khadija Mastoor

Zameen, alternatively spelled Zamin, is an Urdu novel by Pakistani novelist and short story writer Khadija Mastoor. The novel was published posthumously by Idara-e-Farogh-e-Urdu in 1983. Daisy Rockwell, PhD, translated it into English and released it in July 2019 under the title A Promised Land. Zameen depicts the economic and political upheaval that entailed the partition of British India. It begins at the final setting of Mastoor's first novel Aangan – the Walton refugee camp in Lahore. Consequently, it is sometimes considered an extension of Aangan, however, Rockwell has clarified that it is not a narrative sequel, rather a philosophical and thematic follow-up. It is considered a political allegory and a women-centric historical account of Pakistan's independence.

Beena Chaudhary is a Pakistani actress. She is known for her roles in dramas Romeo Weds Heer, Ishq Zahe Naseeb, Suno Chanda 2, Ghisi Piti Mohabbat and Kahin Deep Jaley.

Pardah is an Islamic Urdu book by Pakistani scholar Abul A'la Maududi. The book was originally published in 1940. It has been translated into several languages and is considered one of the best sellers of the author.
