Sonny Styles (born November 24, 2004) is an American football linebacker for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Early years and high school

Styles was born in Pickerington, Ohio and attended Pickerington Central High School. In Styles's high school career, he notched 88 tackles with one going for a loss, a sack, two pass deflections, six interceptions, and a forced fumble. [1] On August 30, 2020, in a rival game against Pickerington High School North, Styles had nine tackles, an interception and blocked a punt, on a televised game as Ohio State coaches watched it. [2] Syles was rated a five star recruit coming out of high school. [3] Styles would decide to commit to play college football at The Ohio State University over other schools such as Clemson, Florida, Notre Dame, and Ole Miss. [4] [5]

College career

In Styles first season he notched nine tackles with one going for a loss. [6] Styles was named a starting safety for the Buckeyes going into their week one matchup in 2023. [7] In his first start he played 49 snaps where he had four tackles with 1.5 being for a loss, as he helped Ohio State beat Indiana. [8] Styles will be playing linebacker in 2024 and beyond.

Personal life

His dad is former NFL linebacker Lorenzo Styles, and his brother is Ohio State cornerback Lorenzo Styles Jr. [9] [10]
