The Spain national futsal team represents Spain in international futsal competitions and is controlled by the Royal Spanish Football Federation. It is one of the strongest teams in the World, seven times champions in the UEFA Futsal Championship, and the two times consecutive champions of the FIFA Futsal World Cup. [2]

Contents

It has been proclaimed world champion in 2000 and 2004, and three times runner-up in 1996, 2008 and 2012. [3]

At the continental level of UEFA competitions, it has participated in the eleven disputed editions of the UEFA Futsal Championship, of which was organizer in the first two, of 1996 and 1999. It has been continental champion seven times, [4] in 1996, 2001, 2005, 2007, 2010, 2012 and 2016, being runner-up in 1999 and 2018, not reaching the final only in the editions of 2003 and 2014, where it was eliminated in the semifinals. These titles make Spain the second most successful national team after Brazil. [5]

The AMF organised the championship until 1989.

The Japan national futsal team, nicknamed Samurai Five, represents Japan in international futsal competitions and is controlled by the Japan Football Association.

They are the reigning FIFA Futsal World Cup champions, the current and back-to-back winners of the UEFA Futsal Championship, and the first team to win the Futsal Finalissima.

The Italy national futsal team represents Italy in international futsal competitions such as the FIFA Futsal World Cup and the European Championships and is controlled by the Italian Football Federation. Italy has also come in second place at the 2004 FIFA Futsal World Cup, as well as third place in the 2008 and 2012 editions.

The Turkey national futsal team represents Turkey in international futsal competitions such as the FIFA Futsal World Cup and the European Championships and is controlled by the Turkish Football Federation, which founded the national team in 2006.

The Morocco national futsal team, nicknamed Ousoud Al Atlas , represents Morocco in international futsal competitions. It is affiliated to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and is one of the strongest teams in the world.

The United States national futsal team represents the United States at international futsal competitions. It is governed by the United States Soccer Federation and the U.S. Soccer, affiliated with CONCACAF. The U.S. Futsal Federation was founded in 1981 and the first international futsal match played by the U.S. National Futsal Team was in May 1984 in Nanaimo, Canada where the United States won, 6–5. The first international futsal match in the United States was held in December, 1985, at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, California. The U.S. select team, defeated Australia, 9–5.

The Azerbaijan national futsal team is the national futsal team of Azerbaijan and is controlled by the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan. It represents Azerbaijan in international futsal competitions such as the FIFA Futsal World Cup and the European Championships. They are ranked 13th in the world, the highest-ranking team from Caucasus in the World Rankings. They are also ranked 7th in Europe on 10 August 2021.

The Kazakhstan national futsal team is controlled by the Football Federation of Kazakhstan, the governing body for futsal in Kazakhstan and represents the country in international futsal competitions, such as the World Cup and the European Championships.

The Republic of Ireland national futsal team has represented the Republic of Ireland in the UEFA Futsal Championship. The Republic of Ireland has, to date, never qualified for the final stages of a major tournament. It has, however, taken part in several invitational tournaments, such as the 2008 Four Nations Futsal Cup. It is organised by the Football Association of Ireland.

The Maldives national futsal team is controlled by the Football Association of Maldives, the governing body for futsal in the Maldives and represents the country in international futsal competitions.

The Saudi Arabia national futsal team is controlled by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and represents Saudi Arabia at international futsal competitions.
