Taron Vincent (born February 5, 2000) is an American football defensive tackle for the San Antonio Brahmas of the United Football League (UFL). He played college football at Ohio State.
Vincent was ranked as a five-star prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings out of high school. [1] [2] He committed to Ohio State on April 2, 2017, over offers from Alabama, Florida State, and Georgia. [3] [4] Prior to the 2023 NFL draft, Vincent played in the 2023 East-West Shrine Bowl. After he went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft, Vincent was invited by the Buffalo Bills to their rookie camp. [8] [9] He later signed with the Los Angeles Rams. [10] [11] [12] He was waived on August 29, 2023. [13]
On December 12, 2023, Vincent signed with the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL. [14] The Roughnecks brand was transferred to the Houston Gamblers when the XFL and United States Football League merged to create the United Football League (UFL). [15]
On January 5, 2024, Vincent was drafted by the San Antonio Brahmas during the 2024 UFL dispersal draft. [16]
Vincent is the son of former NFL cornerback and current NFL employee Troy Vincent. [8] [17]
Harold Wade Phillips is an American football coach who is currently the head coach of the San Antonio Brahmas of the United Football League (UFL). He has served as head coach of the Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys, and Houston Roughnecks. He has also served as interim head coach for the New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, and the Houston Texans. Additionally, Phillips has long been considered to be among the best defensive coordinators in the NFL. In his long career, he has served as defensive coordinator in eight separate stints with seven different franchises. Multiple players under Phillips' system have won Defensive Player of the Year: Reggie White, Bryce Paup, Bruce Smith, J. J. Watt and Aaron Donald. Others under Phillips have won Defensive Rookie of the Year: Mike Croel and Shawne Merriman. In Phillips' lone Super Bowl victory, a defensive player would be named Super Bowl MVP: Von Miller.
