OpenText TeamSite is an enterprise web content management system developed by Interwoven. At present, it is owned, maintained, marketed by OpenText, a company that acquired it from Hewlett-Packard on May 1, 2016. [1] Interwoven was founded in 1995, and acquired by Autonomy Corporation on March 17, 2009. Autonomy was acquired by Hewlett-Packard in 2011.
Interwoven was founded in 1995 in California by Singaporean Peng Tsin Ong, who was also Interwoven's first CEO and chairman. Peng was the co-founder of Match.com, and later went on to found Encentuate. [2] [3] In its private startup phase the company was backed by Foundation Capital, [4] Draper Fisher Jurvetson, [5] Accel Partners and other venture capital co-investors including Gary Kremen. [6]
On October 8, 1999 Interwoven had their initial public offering (IPO) on NASDAQ with Credit Suisse First Boston as the lead underwriter. [7]
On January 21, 2009, Interwoven announced it agreed to be acquired by Autonomy Corporation, based in England. [8] Autonomy estimated the consideration at $775 million [9]
The acquisition was finalized on March 17, 2009.
HP bought Autonomy on August 19, 2011.

Compaq Computer Corporation was an American information technology company founded in 1982 that developed, sold, and supported computers and related products and services. Compaq produced some of the first IBM PC compatible computers, being the second company after Columbia Data Products to legally reverse engineer the IBM Personal Computer. It rose to become the largest supplier of PC systems during the 1990s before being overtaken by HP in 2001. Struggling to keep up in the price wars against Dell, as well as with a risky acquisition of DEC, Compaq was acquired for US$25 billion by HP in 2002. The Compaq brand remained in use by HP for lower-end systems until 2013 when it was discontinued. The brand is licensed to third parties for use on electronics in Brazil and India.
David Packard was an American electrical engineer and co-founder, with Bill Hewlett, of Hewlett-Packard (1939), serving as president (1947–64), CEO (1964–68), and chairman of the board of HP. He served as U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense from 1969 to 1971 during the Nixon administration. Packard served as president of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) from 1976 to 1981 and chairman of its board of regents from 1973 to 1982. He was a member of the Trilateral Commission. Packard was the recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1988 and is noted for many technological innovations and philanthropic endeavors.
HP Autonomy, previously Autonomy Corporation PLC, was an enterprise software company which was merged with Micro Focus in 2017. It was founded in Cambridge, United Kingdom in 1996.
Peregrine Systems, Inc. was an enterprise software company, founded in 1981, that sold enterprise asset management, change management, and ITIL-based IT service management software. Following an accounting scandal and bankruptcy in 2003, Peregrine was acquired by Hewlett-Packard in 2005. Micro Focus which merged with the HP Software Division in 2017, now markets the Peregrine products as part of its IT Service Management solutions.
Stephen T. Jurvetson is an American businessman and venture capitalist. Formerly a partner of the firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ), he was an early investor in Hotmail, Memphis Meats, Mythic and Nervana Systems. He is currently a board member of SpaceX and served on Tesla's board from 2006–2020. among others. He later co-founded the firm Future Ventures with Maryanna Saenko, who worked with him at DFJ.

Micro Focus Quality Center, formerly known as HP Quality Center is a quality management software offered by Micro Focus, who acquired the software division of Hewlett Packard Enterprise in 2017, with many capabilities acquired from Mercury Interactive Corporation. Quality Center offers software quality assurance, including requirements management, test management and business process testing for IT and application environments.
