The 50 Greatest Hits is a compilation album by American singer Elvis Presley, originally released on November 18, 2000. It features 50 of Presley's best known songs and was re-released on 11 August 2017 to mark 40 years since his death. [2]

The second disc, The Outtakes, features outtakes and "in-the-studio dialog" newly mixed by Matt Ross-Spang at the Sam Phillips Recording Studio.

The album features archival vocal recordings of Elvis mostly from the gospel albums How Great Thou Art (1967) and He Touched Me (1972) accompanied by newly recorded instrumentation and backing vocals. The album marks the 25th anniversary of Williams's solo career, and contains re-recorded and orchestrated versions of songs from his career, which were reworked by Jules Buckley, Guy Chambers and Steve Sidwell with the Metropole Orkest. The XXV version of "Angels" was released as the lead single, followed by the double single "Eternity/The Road to Mandalay" and the new song "Lost" as the third single. The deluxe edition of the album adds 10 tracks, including four more original songs—"Disco Symphony", "More Than This", "Home Thoughts from Abroad" and "The World and Her Mother". The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, with Williams breaking the record for most number-one albums among solo acts. The album is supported by the XXV Tour.
