The Kingsbury Manx is an American indie rock group from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, United States.
The original members of The Kingsbury Manx met in middle school. They then attended different colleges and reunited during the summer months to play and record together. One of their demos caught the ear of Chicago-based label Overcoat Recordings, who issued their debut self-titled album in 2000. [1] Despite little promotional effort from the label, the album became a cult success, including recognition in UK music magazine NME 's Top 50 of 2000. A second LP (Let You Down) followed in 2001 and a third album and EP (Aztec Discipline and Afternoon Owls) in 2003. [1] The band has toured with many indie bands of note including The Sea and Cake, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, Iron and Wine, The Pernice Brothers, The New Pornographers, Calexico, Stephen Malkmus, Clinic, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, and Brightblack Morning Light. Over the last few years, there have been a couple lineup changes with original members Kenneth Stephenson and Scott Myers leaving while adding Clarque Blomquist and Paul Finn. In 2005, the group split with Overcoat and signed to Yep Roc, who released The Fast Rise and Fall of the South. The album was mixed by Wilco's Mikael Jorgensen. [1]
The band are currently on Odessa Records and released their fifth album Ascenseur Ouvert! on April 21, 2009, followed by a sixth, The Bronze Age on 5 March 2013.

The Dream Syndicate is an American alternative rock band from Los Angeles, California, originally active from 1981 to 1989, and reunited since 2012. The band is associated with neo-psychedelia and the Paisley Underground music movement; of the bands in that movement, according to the Los Angeles Times, the Dream Syndicate "rocked with the highest degree of unbridled passion and conviction." Though never commercially successful, the band met with considerable acclaim, especially for its songwriting and guitar playing. Bandleader Steve Wynn reformed the band in 2012, and a fifth studio album was released in February 2017.
Dressy Bessy is an indie rock band from Denver, Colorado led by songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist, Tammy Ealom. The band is associated with the Elephant Six Recording Company and shares guitarist John Hill with The Apples in Stereo. Ealom formed the band with drummer Darren Albert and bassist Rob Greene in 1996. Hill joined the band after helping engineer early recordings in 1997. The name was taken from a popular Playskool doll of the 1970s.

The Three O'Clock is an American alternative rock group associated with the Los Angeles 1980s Paisley Underground scene. Lead singer and bassist Michael Quercio is credited with coining the term "Paisley Underground" to describe a subset of the 1980s L.A. music scene which included bands such as Dream Syndicate, Rain Parade, Green on Red, the Long Ryders and the Bangles.

American Princes is an indie rock band from Little Rock, Arkansas, United States. The band started in 2003 when David Slade, then-bassist John Beachboard and drummer Matthew Quin moved to Little Rock from New York City. Within their first year in Arkansas, they met guitarist Collins Kilgore and released their first album, We Are the People, on Max Recordings. In 2004, after their first national tour, American Princes released their second album, Little Spaces, also on Max Recordings. Luke Hunsicker joined the 2004 tour in support of Little Spaces.
John Roger Ferguson is an American musician. He is currently a member of The Apples in Stereo, and he was a founding member of Big Fresh. His father, Roger Ferguson, was an associate of underground DIY figure R. Stevie Moore, and John appeared on Moore's recordings and radio shows by age three. During his freshman year of college, Ferguson teamed up with Ben Fulton and Bryan Gore to form Big Fresh in 1998. The band – with various lineup changes – recorded three albums. In 2002, Ferguson met Robert Schneider of The Apples in Stereo, and they formed ulysses. Their first release, 010, appeared in 2004 on the Eenie Meenie Records label, and received positive reviews. In 2006, Schneider invited him to become a member of the Apples In Stereo, and Ferguson performed on the band's 2007 album, New Magnetic Wonder. Ferguson is also a member of the synth-folk band Deek hoi, continues to collaborate with R. Stevie Moore and perform with Big Fresh. He also hosts The Percy Trout Hour radio show on WRFL in Lexington.He and Robert Schneider in 2015 Have created a new band called Spaceflyte which is an experimental pop band.

It was released April 1, 2008 under the Simian Records, Yep Roc Records, and Elephant 6 labels. It can be seen as a companion to Science Faire, a 1996 compilation that collects recordings from the band released prior to their first album.
