Timothy Simons (born June 12, 1978 [1] ) is an American actor and comedian. He is best known for his role as Jonah Ryan on the HBO television series Veep , [2] [3] [4] for which he has received five nominations and one win for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. [5] [6] [7] He has also had acting roles in the films The Interview , Christine , and The Boss . He also appears on the series Candy as Pat Montgomery.

Early and personal life

Simons is the son of Susan and Ron Simons. He graduated from Maranacook Community High School in 1996 [8] and the University of Maine in 2001. [8] Simons is married to Annie Simons and they have two children together. [8] [9]

Early in his career, he worked on commercials. He was behind the camera during auditions and callbacks for a 2009 Folgers commercial that later went viral. [10]

"Election Night" is the tenth and final episode of the fourth season of the American television comedy series Veep, and the 38th episode overall. "Election Night" aired on June 14, 2015, on HBO. It was written by Simon Blackwell, Armando Iannucci, and Tony Roche, and directed by Chris Addison. The episode follows the night of the U.S. Presidential Election, in which President Selina Meyer is running against Senator Bill O'Brien. "Election Night" largely takes place in a hotel suite where Selina and her staff are watching the election returns on cable news. At the end of the episode, Selina and O'Brien are tied for electoral votes.
