She is also the younger sister of the 17th and current Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar.

One of her daughters Tunku Azizah married Sultan Abdullah, the current Sultan of Pahang who also became the sixteenth Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Tunku Soraya binti Almarhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah is the Raja Puan Muda of Perak who is the consort of Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain, the Raja Di-Hilir of Perak. She was adopted by her maternal uncle Sultan Abdul Halim and his consort Sultanah Bahiyah of Kedah as their daughter on 3 May 1960.
