Since November 1985, Browne has appeared in BBC soap opera EastEnders , portraying the role of Winston, a man that runs a market stall in Walford. [9] He is the show's longest-serving male extra and the show's second longest-serving extra, behind Jane Slaughter's character Tracey. [10] [11] Browne also played Marcus in One Way Out in 1989, and had the guest role of Benny Hughes in The Bill in 2003. In 2004, he played Tiko in The Quiet Storm .

Lydia Simmonds is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera EastEnders, initially played by Margaret Tyzack and then by Heather Chasen. She made her debut on April 5, 2011, was portrayed by Tyzack, who left the show due to health reasons on April 13, and appeared as Lydia in three episodes before passing away on June 25, 2011.
