The Wheeling Nailers are a professional ECHL ice hockey team based in Wheeling, West Virginia. They are the ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League.
The United Hockey League (UHL), originally known as the Colonial Hockey League from 1991 to 1997 and last known as the International Hockey League from 2007 to 2010, was a low-level minor professional ice hockey league, with teams in the United States and Canada. The league was headquartered in Rochester, Michigan, and, in its last year, consisted of seven teams. It folded in 2010, with most of its teams joining the Central Hockey League. The Central Hockey League teams still operating in 2014 were then added to ECHL. The only former CoHL/UHL/IHL teams still active as of 2022 are the Fort Wayne Komets and Kalamazoo Wings.

Travis Vernon Green is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player who is the interim head coach for the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League (NHL). Green is the former head coach of the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL. He also previously coached the American Hockey League's Utica Comets, Vancouver's top minor league affiliate. Drafted 23rd overall in 1989, Green played for five different NHL teams in his 14-year career.
The Flint Bulldogs were a professional hockey team in Flint, Michigan, from 1991 to 1993. They were a part of the Colonial Hockey League (CoHL) and played their home games at the IMA Sports Arena. They compiled an overall record of 47–66–7 (.421). After the 1993 season, the Bulldogs relocated to Utica, New York, and became the Utica Bulldogs, but were taken over by the league partway through the 1993–94 season due to mismanagement of general manager Skip Probst. The following season, the league awarded a new team to Utica called the Utica Blizzard.
Gary Agnew is a Canadian ice hockey coach currently serving as an associate coach with the Abbotsford Canucks. He was formerly an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League. He has also served as an assistant coach with the St. Louis Blues and Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League.

After his retirement he became a successful harness racer, coach and broadcaster.

The 1976 Memorial Cup occurred from May 9 to 16 at the Montreal Forum in Montreal, Quebec. It was the 58th annual Memorial Cup competition and determined the major junior ice hockey champion of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). Participating teams were the winners of the Ontario Major Junior Hockey League, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and Western Hockey League which were the Hamilton Fincups, Quebec Remparts and New Westminster Bruins. Hamilton won their second Memorial Cup, and first since changing their name to Fincups, defeating New Westminster in the final game.

The Mohawk Valley Prowlers were a minor professional ice hockey based in Utica, New York, as a member of the United Hockey League (UHL) that played from 1998 to 2001. The Dayton Ice Bandits' franchise was purchased and relocated following the relocation of the Utica Blizzard in 1997. In February 2001, the team were forced to fold by the league in the middle of the 2000–01 season as the team was $2 million in debt, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and could not pay the players' wages leading to a player strike on February 11, 2001.

The franchise was relocated from Utica, New York, in 1997 and played for two seasons in North Carolina before relocating to Glens Falls, New York, to become the Adirondack IceHawks.

Based in Utica, New York, the team played its home games at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. The team moved to Salem, Virginia and became the Salem Raiders for the 1980–81 season. The team would be replaced by the Mohawk Valley Stars the following season in the newly formed Atlantic Coast Hockey League.
