Sidi Mohamed Ould Boubacar is a Mauritanian politician who was prime minister of Mauritania from 1992 to 1996 and again from 2005 to 2007.
The foreign relations of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania have,since 1960,been dominated by the issues of the Spanish Sahara and the recognition of its independence by its neighbours,particularly Morocco. Mauritania's foreign relations are handled by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation,who is currently Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug.
Presidential elections were held in Mauritania on 11 March 2007. As no candidate received a majority of the votes,a second round was held on 25 March between the top two candidates,Sidi Ould Cheikh Abdallahi and Ahmed Ould Daddah. Abdallahi won the second round with about 53% of the vote and took office in April.

He was the 7th Prime Minister of Mauritania from January 2,1996,to December 18,1997,Minister of Foreign Affairs from July 12,1998,to November 16,1998,and Prime Minister again from November 16,1998,to July 6,2003,under President Maaouya Ould Sid'Ahmed Taya;later,he briefly served as Minister of Foreign Affairs again in 2008.

Yahya Ould Ahmed El Waghef is a Mauritanian politician. He was appointed as Prime Minister of Mauritania on 6 May 2008,serving until the August 2008 coup d'état. Waghef is also President of the National Pact for Democracy and Development (ADIL),and he was Secretary-General of the Presidency from 2007 to 2008.
Mohamed Lemine Ould Guig is a Mauritanian academic and political figure. He was the 8th Prime Minister of Mauritania from December 18,1997 to November 16,1998. Guig was the Prime Minister between stints by Cheikh El Avia Ould Mohamed Khouna.
Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz is a former Mauritanian politician who was the 8th President of Mauritania,in office from 2009 to 2019. A career soldier and high-ranking officer,he was a leading figure in the August 2005 coup that deposed President Maaouya Ould Sid'Ahmed Taya,and in August 2008 he led another coup,which toppled President Sidi Ould Cheikh Abdallahi. Following the 2008 coup,Abdel Aziz became President of the High Council of State as part of what was described as a political transition leading to a new election. He resigned from that post in April 2009 in order to stand as a candidate in the July 2009 presidential election,which he won. He was sworn in on 5 August 2009. He was subsequently re-elected in 2014,then did not seek re-election in 2019. He was succeeded by Mohamed Ould Ghazouani,who assumed office on 1 August 2019.
Moulaye Ould Mohamed Laghdaf served as the Prime Minister of Mauritania from August 2008 until August 2014.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the national ministry of foreign affairs of Mauritania. It has its headquarters in Nouakchott,just to the northwest of the Nouakchott Convention Center complex.
The Archives Nationales de Mauritanie is the national archives of Mauritania. It was founded in 1955 and hold 3,000 volumes. As of 2007 it was located on Avenue de l'Indépendance. Directors have included Mohamed Ould Gaouad,Izidh Bih Ould Sidi Mohamed,and Mohamed Moctar Ould Sidi Mohamed.
Maty Mint Hamady is a Mauritanian economist and politician who has been Mayor of Nouakchott,the capital and largest city of Mauritania,since 2014. Previously she was Minister of Public Service,Labour and Modernization of Administration from 2011 to 2013.
Amadou Gon Coulibaly was an Ivorian politician who served as Prime Minister of Côte d'Ivoire from January 2017 until his death in July 2020. He was the ruling party's candidate in the 2020 Ivorian presidential election and had been among the favourites to win. He had earlier served as the presidency's secretary general under President Alassane Ouattara from 2011 to 2017.
Lalla Mariam Bint Moulaye Idriss is a Mauritanian politician. Born in Ayoun el Atrous,she began her studies in that town before continuing them in Nouakchott,eventually gaining a doctoral degree in financial engineering.

Naha Mint Mohamed Lemine Ould Seyyidi was a Mauritanian journalist. She was considered the first woman to work in media in Mauritania.
TénéBirahima Ouattara is an Ivorian politician who is currently the Minister of Defense of Ivory Coast. He has previously served as the country's Minister of Presidential Affairs and head of the national intelligence department. He is the brother of Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara.
The second government of Mohamed Ould Bilal was the 17th government of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania,in office between 1 April 2022 and 3 July 2023. It was a coalition between the Union for the Republic,which rebranded itself as El Insaf in July 2022,and the Union for Democracy and Progress,whose leader Naha Mint Mouknass is the only member representing the party.
